Keep favorites/playback history regardless of subscription
There have been a few podcasts that I've really liked episodes of add have favorited (maybe bc of a guest or topic), but haven't wanted to continue listening for whatever reason and have unsubscribed. I've noticed when I do this that all episodes of that show are removed from my playback history and favorited episodes. One thing I love about Podcast Addict is it's organization and the ability to serve as a record of what I listened to, so I feel this would only enhance that. I'd love for this to be resolved in a future update. Additionally, if there…
40 votesThe latest version has an option to keep all the podcast data when unsubscribing. Only the subscription status will be changed which means that the podcast will stop receiving new episodes. The podcast will still be visible on the app main screen
That might not be exactly what you were asking but this means that the episodes will remain in the playback history
Please provide some feedback if this is not what you were asking for
Thanks

Mark as read when skipping to next episode.
It would be nice to have an episode be marked as read when clicking next button. Right now I have to fast forward multiple times to the end. There are a lot of podcasts that have material at the end that would be nice to skip over instead of fast forwarding through.
Thanks for the great app.

Allow to organize live streams and radio stations
Having all radio stations in a single grid without a way to sort them other than by name can become cumbersome. It would be nice to have an optional list view, sorting (recent, custom) and categories, just like the podcasts.

Include notifications in custom settings for individual podcasts
it is now possible to override global settings (download, cleanup, etc). However, i would like to override notifacation settings as well. Motivation: for daily podcasts i dont want to get a notification, whereas for podcasts with irregular release frequency it would be quite useful to get informed about that new episode.

to be able to listen podcast during it is downloading

37 votesI will add this feature in the next version (v3.2)
It will be disabled by default and the setting will have a beta status for some time until I can make sure it works fine for everyoneEdit: This feature has been released in v3.2

Organize Front Page
I love this app, but the only thing I would wish for is an easier way to sort my podcasts.
Right now, I have to sort each individual podcast by assigning it a 'priority' number, which gets the job done but takes a long time to accomplish, especially if you have a lot of subscriptions. Would it be possible to have an update so I can simply touch and hold the podcast image, and then have the icon respond by letting me drag it around to whatever spot on the list or grid that I want? Or maybe just have…
37 votesThe app allows you to reorder your subscriptions by drag and drop.
Feel free to contact me if you have any question (Settings/Feedback)

Concurrent downloads
Sometimes an episode downloads very slowly while there are other podcasts waiting to be downloaded. Being able to download 2-4 episodes at the same time would help in this case.

You can customize the number of concurrent downloads in Settings/Download -
New design
Seriously, your app is a very good one. But it feels like an old-school design (sorry). Any way to change design to reflect its quality ?
35 votesDone. I changed the app layout and added 3 themes. Light themes will be added later. Next step: improve the app navigation

Add autoplay feature
I use another podcast app that has an autoplay feature. This means I can use my alarm app to launch the podcast app so I can wake up to my podcasts. I like YOUR app better than Stitcher & would love to be able to use your app for my alarm as well.

A first beta has been published with the Alarm feature.
Please join the Beta on the Play Store app page, then update the app to get it.
I will need your help to test this on many different devices and situations to make sure this works fine.
For now everything except the Snooze feature has been implemented.
You can find more details in the Changelog (https://podcastaddict.com/changelog/2021_11)Thanks!

Add favorite podcasts feature to force selected podcasts to the top of the playlist
note - this is different than existing favorite episodes feature
I want to list to my podcasts in this order:
1-MobileTechRoundup (~60 minutes, updates roughly weekly)
2-NPR News (~5 minutes, updates hourly)
3-WSJ Tech Briefing (~5min, updates twice a day)
4-bunch of other short podcasts
5-bunch of other long podcastsUsing the available sort options doesn't allow me to listen in this order (I have been using stitcher which does let you do this). I think having a favorites flag will allow me to use the sort by duration with the exception of playing my selected favorites first.
35 votesI will add a priority setting for every podcast. It will be available by long pressing the podcast and selecting ‘Custom settings’.
Once the priorities are set, you will be able to sort the podcast list (main screen) and/or the playlist by priorities.Edit: delivered in v2.1.0

Add multiple selection on playlist
today's playlist only allow individual config on one subscription, it's very inconvenient especially when shuffling the orders of podcasts manually....
with multiple select, you can easily group a few casts and move them upwards ...or at least have a quick "move to the top" "move to the bottom" option in the config list for playlist.35 votesEdit: Delivered in v3.21
Podcast Addict v3.21 will allow you to select multiple episodes in the playlist and to select one of the following action:
– remove from playlist
– delete
– move to top
– move to bottom
– reset playback positionA new beta including this feature will be published tomorrow.
Please join the beta tester group in order to test this -
Ability to browse & download individual episodes without subscribing to a whole podcast.
I often would like to listen to individual episodes of a podcast rather than subscribe to the whole podcast. Would make it easier to cherry pick individual episodes on a given topic or guest.
35 votesThis feature has just been released in v3.16
From the search results press on the podcast (or long press), the select ‘Episodes’, you will then have the list of the podcast episodes, from which you can stream/download without having to subscribe firstBTW: I forgot to add this feature in the Discover podcasts screen, but it will be done later this week

Custom value for "Keep at most"
Currently user can choose between preset values (1, 3, 5, etc.) in the Automatic Cleanup "Keep at most" setting. Why not allow any value to be entered? I personally would like an option for 2 and 4.
35 votesI’m considering this completed as nobody contacted me since I added more values to the list

Open directly on the Playlist
Create a new function that allows to go directly to the playlist screen on the opening of the app.
34 votesI just published v1.22 on the Play Store. Now Podcast Addict provides 3 launcher shortcuts that allow you to open the app on the default screen or on the player or on the playlist.

add headset button control
It would be really useful to configure headset buttons, for example to skip forward by double clicking and skip back by triple clicking the headset button.

Only the double-click has been implemented -
incremental rewinding
I am using an audiobook app that rewinds the book incrementally upon resumption based on how long it was paused. So if the play was paused for a brief moment it rewinds a second or two if for a few seconds than it rewindes 5 seconds it does so up to 30 seconds.

Volume boost Android intent
I would like the option to enable the volume boost (for all podcasts) and one to disable it again.
When I use P.A. on my motorcycle I need to enable volume boost each time, after that I have to disable it when I use it in my car.
An option to automatically enable the volume boost when I connected to a specific Bluetooth device would also suffice.
34 votesEdit: Delivered in v3.21
This intent will be available in the next version v3.21 build 740
I updated the FAQ for more detail -
Be able to change the sleep timer fade-out
I would really like to be able to change how long the fade-out lasts. Now, it's 15 seconds long, and I would prefer something like 2. If I'm still awake and want to listen for another 10 minutes, I feel like I am missing those 15 seconds because they are so quiet. And if I'm already asleep, I won't notice a 2 second fade as being abrupt and waking me up.
So please add this to the settings, this app is so close to being perfect!34 votesCompleted

Next version will allow you to customize (or disable) the fade-out duration. To do so you will have to go in Settings/Player/Sleep timer

MANUAL Podcast Sort - Not using "Priority"
I know that one can click Custom Settings, Podcast Priority, and set a number, but this is WAY too cumbersome and not efficient, especially when you want to add newly discovered podcasts and fit them in somewhere. It would be infinitely easier and preferable to simply be able to DRAG and DROP each podcast in the order you wish (if you are using Manual sort). You wouldn't lose the ability to sort by date or alpha etc. but if you select manual sort, you can drag and drop. Please add this it would be so awesome!
