Multiple playlists
I would like to be able to create multiple regular playlists, where I select which episodes are added to each playlist and not add all episodes of a podcast like in the "custom" category. Also, it should be possible to remove the "video" playlist as I don't have a need for this, and I assume most people who listen to podcasts (while driving etc) also don't.
However, most importantly, I would like to be able to create multiple playlists (like one for listen to now, listen to when I have time, etc) where I am individually adding episodes, not complete podcasts, to the list.
EDIT: a 1st beta will be available by the end of the day.
FYI the Custom playlists will soon be improved.
Filters will be available so the selected category can only show episodes based on their download status, played status, stared status, publication date, …
I get it that some of you want multiple playlists were episodes can be manually added, but there’s no plan to implement this for now.
However, according to the feedback I got by email, it looks like those filters will solve limitations of the current solution for most users.
Feel free to send me some feedback by email if you have ideas for other filters that can be implemented (Settings/Feedback/Email)
Thanks

OMG yes, +1000 this ! I've switched to PA after years and years of BeyondPod, and the only feature i'm dearly missing is smart playlist, where you can define several rules for several moods. For instance, "listen to the latest of X then Y and Z" for news in the morning, or "listen to all new eps of A then all of B" for more serialized podcasts. It was absolutely brilliant and i've never understood any of the priorities (manual or auto) or categories in PA so each time i need to reorder myself. It's been bugging me for months #FirstWorldProblems
Would even consider tipping the author to get this prioritized, i really don't know what I would ask more from P.A, this is by far the most used app on my phone. -

Glad to see I'm not the only one missing the ability to create one's own playlists, such as "language", "comedy", "news" for instance.

Yes ! I want to be able to switch beetween my own playlists depending on my mood/activity. I never understood why this very basic feature was missing. It would be a great improvement for the already best podcast app.

Agree! This would be handy if you want to sort individual episodes in separate categories or add custom tags to each episode.

I am honestly shocked that this app doesn't have this very basic feature and I don't mean to sound overly critical as it is awesome but I really don't understand it, is it really such a low priority for people ?

Yes! The ability to create multiple playlists that could contain at least say 100 episodes from multiple different podcasts, with user generated titles... This is the #1 it only 2 features I think PA is missing, this taking priority over the ability to login to an account which would allow cross device synchronization. I think this would be more immediately beneficial as well as easier to Implement. Looking forward to it! Thanks for all your work on this fantastic app!

You need to be able to define a list of podcasts, then name it, save it, then you can play only that list of podcasts on demand - News, entertainment, workout etc.
Even better would be able to have the aforementioned feature + the ability to define the list of episodes by your search function.

While it is not necessary, a second play list would be most beneficial. One for important podcasts and one for those that aren't pressing.

This is the number one thing I'm looking for in a podcast app. I hate the Pocket Cast update and am more than willing to move to a new app, but I need the ability to create multiple playlists.

P. Addict really needs this. I feel this is the one feature that keeps it from being the best podcast app out there. The custom playlist is just way too general in the setup too have any real functionality when you want to separate playlist by subject/use case please do this. Thank you for considering it!

And be able to choose which playlist when using automatic playlist in a podcast configuration.

I meant to say every non-downloaded episode. I don't want to see all available episodes in the custom playlist.

The Custom Playlist option is nice. But it would be better if it didn't include every downloaded episode. I still only want to create playlists out of downloaded episodes.

Yes, this would be great!!

Agree wholeheartedly. The custom playlist option as implemented currently is far too restrictive, and doesn't play by the same rules as the regular playlist. Having multiple, named playlists would make life as a Podcast Addict so much better!

Yes, this!
I'd like to have at least two playlists so I can (for example) separate the podcasts I listen to for professional development from those I listen to for pleasure.

The implementation of multiple playlists should, at minimum, work like the implementation in "Podcast Republic." This is the only feature P-Repub has over P-Addict.
Even better would be:
1. Have an option to create playlists of any name.
2. Have an option to download all episodes of one podcast to a one or more created playlist, including the general "audio" playlist. This can be set as an automatic download action as well.
3. Also have and option to download a single episode (or multiple checked episodes) to one or more created playlists.
4. Have an option to download episodes of a podcast to a dedicated playlists for that podcast (here the playlist name would be automatically generated as the podcast title). This would be great for story driven or series based podcasts. If you look at the P-Repub settings for episode playlist downloads action, you can see how this is could easily be implemented by overriding the global podcast settings for each individual podcast, which is already a feature for many actions in P-Addict.
I find using the current category system for playlists to be very clumsy.
P-addict is THE best app out there. This one improvement would make it perfect.

@Anonymous - This sounds like something different, having multiple playlists that you could label as different things, as the other @Anonymous says, "Listen now", "Listen later", but I can also imagine having user-defined playlists such as "Comedy", "Politics", "News", "Educational", "Documentaries" etc, so you could choose a playlist depending on your mood.

I thought you can create your own playlist already, the multi adds are more as a suggestion.
