Make the audio mute more gradual for the sleep timer rather than the abrupt high to low, as it is now
The automatic sleep timer, whilst going through the phase of allowing you to shake to extend the timer appears to go from normal high volume to low volume in one go, I'd like a more gradual reduction in volume maybe even the option for a low short(ding)tone to announce the shake grace period has started, cheers John

Don't download episodes over metered wifi
In Android 10 it is possible to add a wifi network as "metered". If the App can access this setting, it would be great to have an Option that causes PA to refrain from automatic downloads when on a metered network. This is a vital feature for users from Germany.

Configurable Sleep Timer
The Always On Sleep Timer is great. However, it does get annoying during the day to have to keep replaying the podcast when I'm obviously not falling asleep. Could it be configurable so that it is only active during like 9pm to 6am, for example? Those values would be configured by the user.

Add Pause / Resume / Rewind 5 Seconds option to Upon short audio notification setting
This setting would work just like the existing Pause / Resume option but it would also rewind 5 seconds on resume. This would be useful when doing something like navigating Google Maps. The notifications are often long enough that a quick refresher on what was just said in a podcast would be helpful.

Allow for "refresh regardless of podcast settings"
Hi !
I'm a big fan of the feature implemented from this suggestion which allowed me to pare down the podcasts I refresh daily from 91 to 45 (50% improvement woohoo!).
But the thing is, those podcasts I excluded might still occasionally put up something new on their feeds: bonus content, live show announcements, trailers for new projects from the creators, ...
To make sure I don't miss that, I'd have to go podcast by podcast through the 46 excluded ones to refresh them.

do not update itunes:complete=yes feeds
some feeds are old, and not posting any new episodes - a itunes:complete=yes tag situation, it will be nice to automatically disable 'keep updated' in feeds with this tag - default behavior will be skip that feed when updating

Select Chapters to play
Before playing an episode (or multiple episodes within a playlist), I'd like to be able to select which chapters within an episode to play (and which to skip). When wanting to skip selected chapters, I have to jump to the next chapter mark during playback in the moment, when a new chapter (I'd like to skip) begins. But in that moment I might have no hand free to do so. So I'd like a feature, that allows me to select the chapters to play (or the ones to skip) in beforehand. This could be implemented with checkboxes in the chapter…

Download Manager move to top option
When the list in the Download Manager is too long it takes quite some time if you want to select and drag a particular podcast to the top.
Would it be possible to have a "Move to Top" option where the user selects a podcast(s), next selects the "Move to Top" option and these are shown on the top of the Download Manager list ready to be downloaded.

Chromecast-Support for local Files
Hi,
I use your app to listen to audiobooks that I have saved locally. Unfortunately, the app does not support Chromecast Streaming for local files. That would be a great feature that I would like to see in the app. I very often use the Google Home Mini to stream podcasts via Chromecast with no problems. Unfortunately this just doesn't work for local files. The Vlc player supports this feature, so I hope that it is also technically possible for this app. Otherwise the app is great :)6 votesThis feature has been delivered

Sleep timer on widget
I would like to be able to add the sleep timer button to the player widget, so that I can toggle the timer from the widget without having to go to the episode itself.

Additional Custom Widget Button: Podcasts
would you please consider adding an additional custom button for the widget, a button that would bring a user to the list of podcasts they are subscribed to? It's the home screen, the first item on the app's sidebar menu.

Set the alarm to play from the playlist
At 6 am, it would be nice to waken to meditation or heavy metal podcast, what have you. Clock radios suck.

A first beta has been published with the Alarm feature.
Please join the Beta on the Play Store app page, then update the app to get it.
I will need your help to test this on many different devices and situations to make sure this works fine.
For now everything except the Snooze feature has been implemented.

Android Auto: Setting to not display "Downloaded"
We already have this setting in the App, but even when this is selected (so that Downloaded items aren't displayed in the Side Menu), they still appear in Android Auto. Would also be great to be able to control Categories like this as well. Maybe others.
3 votesNext version will allow you to disable the entries you don’t need in Android Auto. You can do this from Settings/Android Auto. However, you cannot reorder the displayed entries

This works great in the App, but does not appear in Android Auto. Would love to be able to access this from a menu item while in Android Auto, like Playlists or Podcasts menu items
