Lock screen
I want to have to player interface available to me when my phone has still locked.
I would like to be able to choose Between full screen podcast Addict controls and inbred similar with jets audio.
It would be bitchin if I could customize the layout of these lock screen controls

If you running an Android version earlier than 5.0 every app will show the exact same UI on the lock screen widget because it’s an Android system component. Add support for video live stream.
Recent add of audio streams is good, video on the way? I like twit.TV and have a stream app for that. Would like to consolidate.
Twit.TV/live. They have a video stream api, I've a desktop chrome extension1 voteYou should be able to add any kind of live stream. Because playback is handled by the device built-in player, only feeds encoding supported by the device will work.

Tu peux également ajouter n’importe quel flux manuellement -

Update downloaded episodes without backup
I have replaced my device and have a huge backup of audio files. However, the old device is not operational and therefore not able to create a "back up".
The App is downloading all files again in the new device even though the files are already available.
Any idea on how to show files as downloaded without actually downloading since the back up is already put in place in the correct folder (Android/data/com.bambuna.podcastaddict/files/podcast)..

1 voteThe only way for the app to recognize downloaded files is to use the backup/restore feature.
There’s no way the app will be able to link the downloaded files with your subscription on your new device. You can move the downloaded files in another folder and create a virtual folder to listen to them but they won’t be linked to the podcasts. -
Allow the "update subscriptions" function to check for episodes added to individual folders
Some podcasts have exclusive episodes that can only be downloaded elsewhere. Currently, dropping the downloaded file into corresponding folder does not allow the episode to be recognized by the app.
3 votesIf you copy a file in the podcast folder the app will never know about it. If you want to handle 3rd party files within the app you need to create a ‘Virtual folder’ which will display the content of a folder as episodes. Those episodes will not be linked to the original podcast subscription

How about rewind and fast forward controls when phone is locked
Would be nice to have rewind and fast forward controls available when phone is locked and one is driving. Perhaps like a 15 or 30 second rewind or advance.

If you’re running Android 4.x, the lock screen widget allows you to to do that by default.
On Android 5.x Google replaced the lock screen widget component with the app player notification which already has a skip forward button. You can go into Settings/Notifications/Player and add the skip backward button if you want to. -

You can do that by Enabling Settings/Automatic cleanup/Once listened to.
That way the app will delete the episode automatically but only if it has been fully listened to -
Suggestion for next software update
Could you guys add a "reverse or rewind" option in the notification bar? Currently there is only a Fast-Forward. Many thanks!

You will be able to add/remove the controls of your choice -

This is exactly what makes Netflix as sucessfull as it is.
When you encounter a new exciting book at podiobooks, you should be able to start it from the begining, and the app should be able to deal with it automatically
3 votesEdit: you can already do this. Press play on the 1st episode and the app will automatically queue all the other unread episodes.
This is the purpose of the new playlist mode (Continuous playback) -
Bring back Playlist drag and drop!
It's fine from the latest interface on Android and the new ui is incredibly complicated when managing multiple files.

Which ‘new UI’ are you referring to ?
Make sure you selected the ‘MANUAL’ sorting mode in the playlist screen if you want to be able to drag and drop episodes -
Ignore some episodes based on keyword
Hey,
I'm following quite a few podcast, but some, which are long, are posting both the full podcast, and extract from it from the same feed
Since I auto download everything, I'm not interested into listenning it twice.
It would be cool to be able to set a few keyword for each podcast, and when an episode title contain theses keyword it won't be downloaded/displayed.Thanks
1 voteYou can already do that by opening the podcast Custom settings and selecting ‘Filter’.
You can then enter words that need to be part of the title and/or which are excluded.

Add skip back button to lock screen controls
I love the ability to quickly skip ahead and start/stop from the lock screen but I would love the skip back to be there too. Thanks. Love the app!!

On older version of Android the default lock screen widget already has a fast backward button -

In the new UI, how does one add an episode to the playlist? There used to be a button for this vital task. Now it is unclear if it is possible any more.
1 voteAs explained in the changelog in red characters a couple weeks ago, the app now uses a new playback default mode called ‘Continuous playback’. When this mode is selected the app will manages the playlist automatically. You can still switch to previous behavior by selecting ‘Global playlist’ in Settings/Playlist/Playlist Mode

Add back the dedicated playlist shortcut icons
The current shortcut when added has no text so it's out of alignment on my home screen. I miss the old playlist icon.

Previously it was using multiple shortcuts but they have been removed. Widgets don’t display text -

The app supports Chromecast since the release of the 1st Chromecast. It works the same way with the audio version. You need to press on the Chromecast button on the player screen in order to connect to it

problem of podcast auto stop
I'm using the app for many years. Recently the app started to auto stop with no reason.
Just push play to restart but i don't understand why the app is stopping1 votePlease don’t use this page to report an issue. It’s dedicated to new feature request.

ThanksRegarding the issue, the app will only pause if it receives a pause command (remote or local), in case of a network issue if streaming.
If the player notification disappears it means that the app has been killed. Make sure to disable every battery saver settings and apps (Greenify ?) To prevent this.

If you switch to the ‘list’ display mode the app already displays the title and a short description (if provided by the RSS feed)
