  1. Deleting an episode resets its progress.

    Presently, deleting an episode dequeues it and marks it as read, both of which make complete sense. However, its progress is not reset, leaving the progress indicator which must be reset manually. This should be reset automatically.

    At a minimum, there should be an option for this.

    Deleting the episode keeps the playback progress. There’s one way to delete the current played episode while reseting the progress AND skipping to the next episode. To do so long press on the player ‘Next episode’ button.

  2. HTTP authentication support

    Hi,
    I have my own podcast server authenticated by HTTP auth.

    Until latest upgrade, it worked well by entering a
    https://user@password:server/ URL as the podcast URL, then not specifying the user@password in the podcast URL.

    This does not work anymore (-> I can get the podcast, but not download the episodes).

    Is it possible to restore this feature ?

    Regarding this issue, no feature have been removed.
    If it doesn’t work I will need a login, password and url in order to debug and understand what the issue is.

  3. Make a DOWNLOADED EPISODES Icon/Button

    Please add a DOWNLOADED EPISODES icon/button that's as large as the ones showing the episodes I subscribe to (and the first one shown). When a podcast ends and we want to start a new one, we have to go back, then push the tiny lines icon by the word Podcasts to get to the list of available downloads.
    Would be much SAFER when driving!

    There’s a screen called ‘Downloaded episodes’ available in the sliding menu.
    If you want to play multiple episodes without having to interact with the app you need to add the episodes in the playlist first. You can do this manually or you can enable Automatic playlist so downloaded episodes are added to the playlist automatically.

  4. import xml from youtube export

    youtube gives option to export subscriptions. it would be awesome if you could import that XML.

  6. Let my private podcast private

    Hello (sorry for poor English)
    I made a private podcast on my server and it works fine for me. But now i found it in the search engine from podcast addict.
    What can i do to let it private so that nobody can find this?

  7. Skype calls will not pause the podcast, it will only mute it. Could this be fixed?

    I listen to a podcast, Skype calls (Sony Xperia Z3 if that matters), podcast mutes, I reject Skype call, I miss 10 seconds of the podcast and need to go in to rewind the lost time.

    Regarding the issue, the app will just react to Android default audio focus mechanism.
    If an app asks for the audio focus for a short time the app will either lower the volume or pause then resume playback depending on your settings. If the focus is taken for a long time the playback will just stop.

  8. It’s possible to play the contents lined in playlist original order, not to back to first content.

    It’s very hard to explain, but I will try to. There are some contents in playlist (e.g. 1,2,3,4,5). Given I play the no.3 content, and finished it, then start the no.1 content automatically. But I want to play next the no.4 content! I mean, we can play contents in order.

    By default the app plays episodes following the playlist order, so after the # it will play #4. If it plays #1 it looks like you enabled Settings/Playlist/Play 1st episode in Playlist

  9. include a feature to delete specific pisodes

    News podcasts could be automatically deleted as they are not relevant if not listened to on the date.

  12. Put back sequential play

    The latest update had completely messed up my podcast listening. I listen to tap shows that lady several hours. Previously I would download them in order, then add then in order (hour 1, hour 2, etc.), and they would pay in order. Now, even though I still do the same thing, they play in random order , no matter what I do with the Order By options. FRUSTRATING! What's also frustrating is that this comment feature does not scroll down as you type, so I have to keep stopping, and scrolling to see if there are any errors! Gaaa!

    Nothing related to playback has changed.
    If the app plays episode is random order it means that you enabled the Shuffle mode in the player screen. Make sure to disable it if you want to listen to your podcasts in the playlist order.
    I don’t understand the part related to the comment and YouTube though

  15. When playing AAC files show chapters. (Allow navigation)

    AAC podcast are 1h30min long. Contains a few articles (chapter). It would be nice to be able to see chapter title, or at least to go to next/previous one

  17. add option for downloading audio files only [not video]?

    I don't have a lot of space on my phone, but love the app, and I ONLY use the phone for audio podcasts, because of the space videos take up. I'd love to see an option in downloads for dl-ing audio only. [If this already exists, sorry - but I can't find it!!] Thanks!

    You can go into the podcast Custom settings and then apply a filter to only get Audio episodes. Once set for each podcast, the app will only retrieve audio content starting now, which should fix the issue of having video podcasts downloaded.

    Right now you have the Glen Beck Program from the Blaze but not the morning blaze with Pat & Stu.

  19. Have an option to add a podcast (not just an episode) to the playlist, and have PA automatically play the next episode of that podcast

    I have just got into podcasts and am working my way through lots of backlogs at once. I prefer to swap from one podcast to the next. Currently I have to go through a tedious process of manually downloading a few episodes from each podcast, and then go through the playlist and shuffle all the episodes around so they wok in a cycle.

    What I'd like is if instead of the playlist having to be "Podcast A ep 1, Podcast B ep 1, Podcast C ep 1, Podcast A ep 2, Podcast B ep 2, etc", if I could just…

    Hi,

    The app relies on the playlist for the playback. You need to add the episodes to the playlist if you want the app to play them without interruption. You can enable the automatic playlist feature if you want the app to add new episodes automatically.
    You can then order the playlist by podcast in order to play episodes by podcast

    The app background process use almost no memory. Once you open the app it will hold the app caches, but as soon as Android needs to free some resources for apps running in the foreground, Podcast Addict will clear its cache and the process won’t use more than a couple of MB. If it uses more it means that the device had non need to free memory until now.
