  2. Change Icon Settings

    I noticed in the Notification Drawer where there is the playing icon, it now is a simple play and pause icon and it makes me wonder if there could possibly be a way to toggle old and new icons for the app and for the notification drawer.

  4. Move the thumbnails to the app default system cache

    Hi again,

    I had a low-storage-left problem on my phone lately, and I was looking for datas to delete...

    I found the Thumbnail folder of my app, and it was quite big (300Mo), with a lot of old and useless covers in it...
    I'm just subscribed to 15 or 16 RSS'.

    How about store the thumbnails into the default application cache, provided by the system ?

    I'm not talking about the data folders, which assure the integrity of the datas, but the cache folder, which is volatile :

    This folder is really useful : the users could delete easily…

    But I’m guessing the issue has nothing to do with the app. Did you receive an android update recently? Were you storing your episodes on the SD card?
    If so android apps can not longer write to the ad card except in their dedicated folder. Please take a look at the app FAQ and follow the instruction (settings/faq) to solve the issue.

  8. Use comments id3 tag to use for description in virtual podcast.

    Which metatag do you use for the description in virtual podcast? I am using a virtual folder and everything shows fine except for the description. I currently have descriptions in the comments tag of the mp3 file.

  11. Add Go To Hh:mm:ss

    On smartphone with small screen under 3" with the scrollbar it's difficult to move with precision inside a podcast, add a fonction with goto precise time like hh:mm:ss was very fun i think :)

  12. What is feedproxy.google.com?

    I really only subscribe to one podcast and when I listen to new podcasts, Podcast Addict tells me it is contacting feedproxy.google.com, even though the podcast has already been downloaded.

    Is this something being done by Podcast Addict, or the podcast itself?

    I will need more information like the RSS feed URL of those podcasts but it just look that the feed hasn’t been updated recently

  14. Startup directly to playlist

    Love the app! I have it set to auto update and put everything new into the playlist automatically. It would be great if there was a way to set the app to automatically open the playlist on opening so I don't have to click through it every time I want to listen to something.

  15. take a look at "insufficient storage available" error in Google Play when trying to update your app....

    All other app updates install fine, including larger updates.

    There’s nothing I can do about this issue. App install/update is handled by the play store app. Which is known to have a lot of random bugs. Please try googling about that issue. I’m guessing that it will work if you wait a little bit then retry. Maybe reboot your device and retry.

    What do you mean by the button isn’t working ?
    What’s happening ? This is working fine on every devices I tested the app on

  17. Image only download issue

    I've noticed with some episodes such as the latest one on popular podcast Football Weekly from the guardian (http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/series/footballweekly/rss) the app only downloads a thumbnail image. This episode downloads on other podcast apps.
    Please investigate as otherwise this is a great app.

    The app is just downloading the using the link provided in the RSS feed. Just open the feed in a web browser and you will see that the latest episodes just contains a link to a jpg file.
    The issue is on the podcast feed side. Please contact the podcast feed owner
    It looks like this feed still works fine: http://www.theguardian.com/football/series/footballweekly/podcast.xml

    After purchasing, the ad banner no longer appears. However, 'remove ad banner' still appears in the drop down menu.

  19. retry automatic downloads on failures

    I have auto download enabled globally and often notice that some updated podcasts with new episodes don't get downloaded. I assume there was probably a network connection glitch that caused it to fail.

    If there is such a situation, failed automatic downloads should get retried automatically the next time any podcast update occurs (whether timed or manually invoked).

  20. Use Google Cloud Messaging for downloading podcasts silently

    Hi, just a suggestion of a commonly used util :

    Instead of clicking manually for an update (or triggering on every launch...), you could go through GMS to trigger updates.

    The principle is quite simple : every app, on startup, sends on your server a token.
    The server checks regulary for some updates (maybe just the top100 podcasts), and if it founds new content, sends a GMS message to every registered device (the ones that sends their tokens).

    You could get rid of the update button for good then, everything would be automatic.

    The app can already download automatically at the time of your choice. The feature you’re asking requires that all the heavy lifting is done server side. Which means that the app won’t work anymore when the server crashes or is available. Plus for handling this kind of server charge it will cost me like thousands of dollars which I can’t afford. The server stores more than 100k podcasts feeds but much more of standard RSS feed which are usually updated multiple times a day. So in order to update feeds automatically server side I will need a lit of horsepower which cost a lot…
