Move imported podcasts to one of the existing podcasts subscription
Some of the rss that i added didn't get a full story retrieved but only the last 30. I have direct links to older podcasts but since they didn't appear I've downloaded them and add it to the import folder.
It was nice to have the ability to move it to the original podcast instead of being on a "new" podcast.

You can only create a ‘virtual podcast’ that displays files from a specific folder but there’s no way to mix a real podcast with a external files -
Be able to download old podcasts in a subscription.
I would like to download older episodes in a podcast. Usually, when I add a subscription, there is a limited number I can download...about 10-20 episodes. However,using my desktop W8 apps, I can see almost 50-400 episodes in a subscription.
1 votePodcast Addict shows you the full content of the RSS feed. There’s no limitation coming from the app. The only limitation can be done by the RSS feed owner. Some services can show older content because they’re not using the RSS feed, they are querying Webservices like Google Reader before and now feedly that keeps track of past episodes even when they’re not available in the feed anymore.
That’s not how the app works.
The app is autonomous and only uses the RSS feed content -

Please add variable speed playback to older Android versions, particularly 2.3(gingerbread).
1 voteThere’s a good reason why this feature is limited to more recent android versions. Android didn’t provide the required API prior to those versions.

J'avais des podcasts téléchargs sur la mémoire téjléphone puis j'ai eu le malheure d'ajouter une sdacrd. Après impossible pour l'appli de re
J'avais des podcasts téléchargés sur la "mémoire téjéphone" puis j'ai eu le malheur d'ajouter une sdcard. Après impossible pour l'appli de retrouver ses petits. En désespoir de cause, j'ai tout copié par un explorateur windows de la mémoire du tél sur la mémoire de la sdcard, podcast après podcast, mais rien à faire. Des tas de podcasts téléchargés, donc présent sur la sdcard n'étaient plus reconnus comme téléchargés. J'imagine qu'il y a en plus du mp3, une référence quelque part.
Suggestion : re référencer à minima tous les podcasts (ceux téléchargés) en fonction des disques présents (mémoire tél + sdcard…1 voteMerci de bien vouloir remonter les problèmes dans la section dédiée (Bouton Contact support sur ce site). La section actuelle est dédiée aux demandes de nouvelles fonctionnalités.
Il est impossible de lier des fichiers copiés manuellement à des épisodes de podcasts dans l’app.
Par contre l’ajout d’une carte SD ne change rien à l’utilisation du téléphone et/ou de la mémoire par l’app.
Tu as certainement modifié le répertoire de stockage des podcasts dans Paramètres/Téléchargement/Répertoire de stockage suite à l’ajout de la carte SD.
Comme indiqué dans l’écran qui c’est alors affiché, l’app ne gère pas la copie de la mémoire interne vers la SD (ou inversement) à cause du temps trop important que prends cette copie.
Il est donc nécessaire de retélécharger les podcasts.
Une autre solution consiste à faire une sauvegarde puis une restauration après avoir modifié le répertoire de stockageXavier

17 votesGoogle disabled this YouTube API. You can still subscribe to playlists but you need to paste the real playlist url into the app to do so (not gdata… urls)

Do some user studies on newbies
It has taken quite a while to get any sound out. - I have never used a podcast listener before.
Your documentation says that a new subscribe will download available episodes? It seems to wait until the next scheduled download time, and I get the message that I should download instead of stream - I expected it to have downloaded already.
Arr! I guess I just don't understand what "download" means in this context.

1 voteAs explained on the main page when you first start the app you just have to press the + button to subscribe to a podcast and then tune the settings.
Once that’s done you just have to open the episode you want to listen to and press the Play button (or the download button and then the play button once it has been downloaded).When you enable automatic download it will be applied for new episodes (as explained in Settings/Downlaod/Automatic Download). If you want to download past episodes after the first podcast refresh you can do it manually, or for a selection (use the Action Mode menu) or for all of them if you want to (Long press on the podcast and select Download unread)
The message you get about downloading the episode first means that you are streaming an episode and that if you want to listened to it…

Option to import mp3 files (old podcasts from previously used podcast app)
Some podcast providers delete their old podcasts after certain days (public radio stations in Germany after few weeks)
As some of my favorite podcast episodes are no longer available but I do have them downloaded with my previous podcast app (podkicker) that allows me to export them as mp3 files, I would love to integrate them into podcast addict.
Could be even expanded to import my audiobooks and make my audiobook player obsolete.
One app for my audios would be a dream!Keep up the good work!
3 votesYou can already do this. Press the + button and add a virtual podcast. Select the folder that contains the mp3 files and it’s content will be displayed like a new podcast

Effacement d'un épisode d'un podcast
Un clic long sur un épisode à l'intérieur d'un podcast permet d'utiliser le menu "Effacer l'épisode".
Or, lorsque je clique dessus, il ne disparaît pas de la liste mais n'est plus disponible offline si j'ai bien compris.
Pour le faire disparaître de la liste, il faut réinitialiser le podcast : cet épisode étant ancien, il n'est plus dans le podcast.
En conclusion, je n'utilise plus le menu "Raffrachir les épisodes" car je ne peux pas enlever les anciens épisodes...3 votesNon il ne faut pas réinitialiser le podcast !
Si tu souhaites masquer un épisode, tu le marques ‘lus’ puis tu masques les épisodes lus à l’aide du bouton de la toolbar. -

Check virtual podcasts folder for deleted podcasts on refresh
If I delete a podcast that is my virtual podcast folder from another program, like a file browser. The podcast stays in the Podcast Addict list, even on refresh. It can't play the file, but it stays in the list. I think it should be removed when the feeds refresh.
1 voteIt’s already working like that. If you delete a file outside the app you can see that it loses its downloaded icon. Then in case of a virtual podcast it will remove the episode

Il suffit de laisser appuyé sur un épisode et de sélectionner Copier dans le presse papier pour l’URL d’un épisode. Même chose sur un podcast pour récupérer le lien du flux RSS.

C’est déjà configurable dans Paramètres/player. Il est également possible de configurer la durée des sauts par podcasts. Il suffit de laisser appuyé sur un podcast dans l’écran principal puis de sélectionner configurer. Il sera alors possible de surcharger la configuration du player

Show which have been downloaded
On the Podcast menu i can see the total available ( even if my default dowbload is 5) and I can see if they're downloading or not, but not how many that have already been downloaded and how many read

Comment faire pour lire les podcast BIEN?
J'ai 3 podcasts différents, ils se téléchargent, OK. Par contre pour la lecture, je n'ai qu'une seule 'playlist' où s'entremêlent les épisodes des chacuns des 3 podcasts,ni queue ni tête.... Comment faire pour que chaque podcast constitue une seule 'playlist'? Admettons, podcast A, odcast B et podcast C, je voufdrais pouvoir n'écouter que les épisodes B.... impossible! Je n'ai une seule 'playlist' qui comprend tous les fichiers (podcasts A, B et C). C'est une usine à gaz....... à moins qu'il existe une appli beaucoup plus simple, avec moins d'options, car dans la vôtre - avec tout mon respect - il…

Disable bluetooth auto play
whenever i connect my phone to my Bluetooth audio receiver my latest podcast starts automatically playing and I can't find option to disable this feature. Please help!

There’s no such feature in the app. But the app handles external message asking it to start playing.
So if you’re using apps like tasked or connect to and android compatible device that can send such a command then it explains the behavior.You can disable those external commands in settings/player but lock screen widget will not work anymore…

Podcast takes a long time to start playing after hitting play
I usually hit play from the widget to resume a already downloaded podcast. Most times it takes 20-30 seconds for the podcast to start playing. After hitting play if I open the app it'll show the podcast that I'm listening to but the progress bar doesn't appear until the song finally starts playing. Been happening for months now.

I’m guessing you’re streaming your episode so it depends on the speed of your internet connection. If you play episodes that are already downloaded it will start playing right away.

If you didn’t disable the app playlist you can add your episodes in the playlist and press the play button. Then you will be listening to every episodes. Or you can enable Settings/Playlist/Automatic playlist and therefore every downloaded episode will be automatically added to the playlist.

Episodes cannot be deleted. Only the downloaded files can. Once you’re done listening to an episode you can flag it as read then you can show/hide read content using the eye icon in the toolbar.
The more convenient way to do it is to enable this behavior to be done automatically (once the episode has been fully listened to it will be removed from the playlist, the file will be deleted and the episode flagged as read).
