I only listen with on ear bud in while at work, and I think I can save a lot of battery life only running one side.

Automatically download the first X episodes in my Playlist
I stream all of my podcasts, since all the episodes are available, I have unlimited data, etc. HOWEVER, I frequently find myself in an area with poor signal, where I get either halting playback or complete stoppage.
What I woud love is the ability to have the Playlist automatically cache the next three or four episodes in the background, so I am always playing a local file, and then have it delete the downloaded episode when playback is complete!

Sometimes when I grab my phone out of my pocket I accidentally press volume up and before can do anything my ears get blasted.

Yamaha
Support for Yamaha smart AV receivers with Musiccast. Essentially like Sonos, it would be nice to be able to use this app with my AV receiver.

Temporary/probation podcasts
is there a way to put newly added podcasts into temporary/probation status? The app would check back in after 30 days to ask the user if they want to keep subscribing to podcast or unsubscribe. This is because sometimes the podcast ended up not so great and I forgot to remove it, it gets cluttered up and then I have to re-listen to remember why it's there and it takes too much time.
Alternate idea would be me marking category as Temporary but that seems involved4 votes -

Great app as of now, will definitely pay for the ad-free version if I don't encounter any problems. I'd want a loudness setting though, that sets the same volume level for everything. Spotify has it if you're looking for a reference. Would be awesome!

Never remove (by clean up) episodes that are on the playlist
I often have a long fallback list of non-timely episodes in the playlist but will (manually) make timely episodes jump the queue. It often happens that when I run out of timely episodes and thus want to fall back, those episodes have been 'cleaned up'.
I think it would be reasonable to exclude episodes in the playlist from being cleaned up.

Change the way links from podcast descriptions are opened
When I open links from podcast descriptions, they are opened in the external browser, but the same tab is reused. I often find myself opening a few links, but leaving them in separate tabs to actually read later. With Podcast Addict I have to copy the address, open a new tab and paste the address there each time before opening any other link.
This is probably not the browser's behavior, because opening a link from other places of the PA (not podcast descriptions, e.g. the About screen) opens a new tab instead of reusing an existing one.

Bulk "reset progress"
I relisten to certain podcasts, usually frI'm their first episode. I'd really like to be able to reset the progress on an entire podcast series instead of having to do it for each individual episode.

Add the ability to delete all items in the playlist prior to the current playing podcast.
It would make cleaning up episodes a lot easier. I rarely ever listen until the very end of a file.

Download By Sort Order
Could you add an option under Automatic Download to download episodes by the sort order of that particular podcast, instead of just the newest episode (default), or the oldest (if that option is selected).
This would help me a lot because I tend to sort different podcasts differently,for example news podcasts I sort by the newest publication date whereas chronological podcasts(such as history podcasts) I sort by oldest publication, and it would be helpful if they were downloaded that way automatically.

Cap playback history or allow us to delete episodes. No need to keep everything. Plus it uses storage space.

When an episode is deleted from your storage, do not remove it from your playlist as well
In the "playlist" tab, it is only possible to "remove from playlist" or "delete and remove from playlist". It would be nice to delete episodes from storage, while it still stays on your playlist (e.g. for streaming on WiFi only).
But maybe I missed out something in the settings and this idea is already possible.

Provide rebroadcast filtering
I have some podcasts on my feed that I really love, so I've listened to every episode, but that have a nasty habit of rebroadcasting old episodes. It would be great if there were a way to check for redundant episodes and filter them out.
Some podcasts are kind enough to put the word "rebroadcast" in the title, so I can just filter out that keyword. But for others, it is not so simple.
Some number their episodes, so if I could filter by partial keyword; I could, for example, filter out episodes 1-599 by excluding regex #[1-5]?[0-9]{1,2}\b or 100-199…

Display read / unread episodes differently by podcast
As far as I know, the setting which displays only unread episodes or all episodes in a podcast (the eye icon) is the same for all podcasts.
It would be great to have a general setting and the ability to set a different parameter for each podcast as there is with other settings such as episode deletion.

Allow users to specify what screen shows when tapping notification or the app icon
Since I'm on the playlist screen 90% of the time and don't need access to the other two screens very often, I would like to be able to specify my "favorite" screen either when clicking the app icon (I can't always use the widget), or when clicking on the art area of the notification.

Add smart playlists and smart sorting
I am used to have multiple Playlists that fill themselves with certain criteria. For example: I drive about 30 Minutes to work so i have a playlist named "commute" that has podcast between 20 and 40 Minutes long. Than I have one for my exercise filled with only 90 Minutes + Podcasts. iTunes (my former program of choice) provided me with those options (plus a few more). As soon as I download the Podcast it will be sorted into one or more playlists because some of them are time related others are topic related.
Sometimes I cannot finish a podcast…
