  1. filter episode based on duration

    I always look at an episode duration before listening to it. If it is too short (usually 30 min) I discard it systematically.
    So, I would find it very useful to be able to filter out/hide short episodes.

    I have seen a similar idea being declined in the past because apparently the duration is not completely reliable. Even though this is the case, I wouldn't care wrongly hiding some episodes as concretely I always have too many long ones to listen to.

    You can open the podcast custom settings and then go into filter to use the Duration filter.
    However this will only apply to future published episodes. The app will only retrieve and display the episodes complying with your filters

  3. Set a 'Consider Podcast Played' remaining time/percentage threshold

    I usually skip the last couple of minutes of a podcast, which may either be jingles or commercials. Currently it seems these are not flagged as 'played', which breaks my imagined optimal routine.

    To be able to set a (remaining) time or percentage threshold (both globally or podcast specific) for when thr episode should be considered played would be very useful to me.

    You can long press on the player next episode button to skip to the next episode while marking the current one as played. You can also set the app to skip the last xx seconds of the podcast. You can do this from the podcast custom settings by using the skip outro feature

  4. allow setting of the default home screen...

    specifically, I want "downloads" as my default home screen when I'm walking/driving/etc so that I can most easily select the next item in my list. It's rare I want to go to the podcast list until I need to download more things.

  5. Be able to search and add Spotify podcasts

    I am not able to find some Spotify Podcasts. I hope in the future your app will be able to reach these as you already access the ITunes ones.

    If you’re referring to Spotify exclusive content, then that won’t be possible as those are not podcasts.
    The app allow you to subscribe to any existing podcast using their RSS feed, however audio content not providing a RSS feed is NOT a podcast and won’t be available in any other app. This is the case for the hosting platform Mixcloud, or Spotify exclusive content

  6. Add the ability to start playing at a given time

    I would love to use podcast addict as my alarm clock. I'd like to be able to set a time (and a volume?) when it should start playing.

  7. Display MP3 ID3 metadata for Audiobooks

    So maybe this is already a feature and I just can't figure out how to enable it, but it would be great if the ID3 "Comments" field were displayed in the player when listening to an Audiobook.

  8. time for an interface update...

    hello, as a paid customer, i really like the software and use it every day.
    but the interface has not been tweaked in many years.
    for example, when viewing a list of podcasts, seeing the same icon for each podcast, is just a waste of space.
    need to have a few choices to better use space, per podcast.
    the title of the podcast gets clipped, and the huge icon is a waste of space. thanks

  9. Add a "see only unplayed" filter.

    Add an option to filter eps in a podcast by unplayed - you can see played, not downloaded, etc, but not filter only unplayed.

  13. Replace deprecated feed

    Hello,

    We recently published our podcast, Scorcast, on Soundcloud and Anchor. We have closed our soundcloud account and want to replace the registered feed on Podcast Addict.

  14. Playlist for cloud based content

    We get a lot of content from cloud sources, YouTube, SoundCloud etc. Can we include all these content in one playlist and manage like podcast addict playlist

  17. SSLHandshakeException for one of podcasts

    There's a russian podcast called linkmeup. It's RSS link is the following:
    https://linkmeup.ru/rss/podcasts/
    However, I get mentioned SSLHandshakeException no matter if I use http or https (probably HSTS?).

    Also I've noticed their certificate is issued by Let's Encrypt. Could it be the issue here?

    I'm able to provide a log, but there's no site functionality to add a log file.

    Should I publish its parts regarding said Exception?

  19. Popping and electronic distortion while app is open

    There is popping and electronic feedback noises after opening app. I thought my Bose speakers were going bad but, it was happening on Galaxy 9s, and on both Amazon Fire 7 after turnning off the app it stopped. Is there an update that can fix this?

  20. Google Drive backups should not require granting access to profile data

    The Google Drive integration requires excessive permissions. The only one that should be required is "View and manage its own configuration data in your Google Drive".

    However, Podcast Addict currently also requires:
    - "Associate you with your personal info on Google"
    - "See your personal info"
    - "View your email address"

    The app only asks access to its own private folder.
    However the SDK Google Drive SDK returns extr information like the email.
    The only information accessed by the app is the email address just to show in the app settings the account you’re logged in. This information isn’t stored anywhere else
