Need a dedicated car mode.
Not just large play/pause buttons, but a re-worked interface or read-out or more of swipe navigation capabilities

It supports Android Auto which allows you to to handle the playback from the car receiver and if you don’t have an Android auto receiver you can use the app player car layout.
Navigating through the app isn’t a good idea when driving ;) -
Stream/Download Hybrid mode
This may already exist but If do I can't find it in any of the options menus.
I would like a streaming mode that upon playing, starts to stream but also downloads that episode and keeps it available for instant resuming until it's been listened to, or ignored long enough that it can be discarded.
I listen to a lot of podcasts and the streaming is great except that I tend to pause and resume quite a lot, this usually works okay, but recently I've found that streaming mode, resuming playback can take a long time, even though I paused…
3 votesPlayback and therefore streaming is handled by the device built-in player, therefore I don’t have access to the buffered data.
As a workaround you can enable the feature that allows you to listen to an episode while it’s being downloaded -
Avoid getting stuck on missing episodes
I've started listening to the Memory Palace and there's an episode in the listing that appears to never load. It's "Episode 0 (Re-Up)" and occurs between Episode 44 and Episode 45. If I try to play it, it says "Connecting to www.podtrac.com..." for a long time and then it gets a 404 error. I've marked it as read, but whenever I go back to the Memory Palace podcast now, it keeps trying to play that episode, and I have to manually go to the episode listing and select the current one. This happens every time I re-open the app.…
3 votesMake sure to remove the episode from your playlist if you don’t want to listen to it otherwise the app will keep playing the playlist content. You can also enable Settings/Playlist/Skip upon failure if you want the app to skip to the next episode in case an error occurs.

"eternal" playlist/log
I would like PA to have an "eternal" playlist/log. It should show every episode I've ever listened to, including a timestamp (guess it would be sensible to trigger the timestamp by the same threshold as the flattr donation)
I would like this feature because I listen to so many podcasts, learn so much, that I often have the desire to find out when it was that I heard a particular thing.

Play order control
First of all, love this app. But, one option that's missing bugs me to death. Please add to Player Controls the option to play episodes by publication date, old->new without having to sort them that way in the listing.

Allow users to set the time of podcast automatic updates.
Automatic updates of podcasts seem to occur during the early afternoon. This not only kills the phone and any other WiFi use on the phone, it also looks the WiFi on other devices if you're on a slope internet connection, as I am. To be able to set the update time, so that I can run it overnight (or whenever I choose) would be really handy.

Play single episode
I usually want playback to stop after a single ep, sometimes even when using the playlist. Can't find how to do this currently.
1 voteYou can either disable the playlist to do so, or move the episode at the bottom of the playlist or use the sleep timer and set it so the playback will end at the end of the current episode.

Bug report: playlist
There seems to be something wrong with the playlist after a recent update. I cannot replay one episode, replay episodes in the playlist, nor shuffle episodes. Touching the cycle icon does nothing.

Moto G4 play bug
Hi, I don't have a very grand bug to report, but the app will not load now that I am using my new phone, a Moto g4 play. I click the app and I get the message "unfortunately, podcast addict had stopped."

Designate podcast episodes between addition episodes for a specific podcast before download when episodes downloaded are from the archive
I have several podcasts that have hundreds of files in their archives. When I get to the end of the weekly released podcasts, that have no archive, I end up with a list that is essentially 4 podcasts over and over again. I don't want this.
What I would like is the option to Designate that I want, for example, 10 downloads between adding an additional podcast from a specified show.
For example, using letters in place of podcast names.

Option to play newest to oldest
I listen to several news podcasts and need an option for continuous play to advance to the newest unplayed episode when the current episode finishes.

Auto download on Wifi Only
Hello, I have been waiting for this feature for a while but it has not been added. I would like to set up Podcast Addict so that when new episodes are set to be auto downloaded only on wifi. This would save e mobile data.
Currently I can set up "auto download on/off" and "download on wifi only". I have many podcasts and I let P.A. auto download certain podcasts. If I check download on wifi only to save data, then I cannot even manually download episodes (although I can stream). So I uncheck this option. Add Login Functionality
Adding an optional login feature would be great. This way, when I change phones, I can download Podcast Addict on my new phone, login, and all of my favorites, subscription data, and played episodes data will be there.

Compress high quality audio files
Some podcasts upload massive high quality files (CFR for example). Please create an automated way to compress these files upon download.

J'ai une amélioration a proposer au niveau des options de tri:
Dans le menu «Podcast», j'aime que les épisodes soient classés par date de publication (du plus recent au plus ancien) mais dans le menu «Épisodes téléchargés» je voudrai les voir par date de téléchargement or, l'option de tri choisie s'applique à tous les menus.1 voteTu peux aller dans Paramètres/Affichage et activer le tri personnalisé pour cela.
Chaque écran utilisera alors son proper tri -

Audio effects are already a per podcat settings. Changing those settings from the player screen only affects the current podcast

Hello, plugging headphones makes the player stop playing on Android Motorola, when re started, it uses external audio not the headphones one
Is it an app bug that can be fixed? I check all options bit all ok. Thanks so much in advance!

The app doesn’t do anything by default when you plug headphones. If you enable ‘automatic resume’ when plugging headphones, then the app will start playing.
Playback and audio output are managed by the device, not by the app -
allow users to build additional playlists
I recently downloaded an audio book and I would like to listen to it using podcast addict. The problem, however, is that Pocast Addict doesn't allow multiple playlists.
