Ability to hide old episodes without having to mark them as read.
I would like to be able to mark other episodes as 'old' or something, similar to the 'mark read' feature. What I want to do is to be able to hide old episodes without confusing them with episodes I have actually listened to.
If there are 300 episodes in a playlist and I have listened to the last 100 episodes it is hard to know at a glance if it has been updated with new episodes since all I ever see is a + sign. What I could do is mark the first 200 episodes as read, but then if I ever want to go and listen to the back catalogue I won't know which episodes I have actually listened to and which are just old since they share the same mark.
Atm I have to choose between if I want to keep good track of what I have and have not listened too 'or' if I want to easily see if a podcast has new episodes and have a clean main view.
Phiew, this was harder too explain than I initially thought :> Hopefully you get what I mean. Thanks!

I too would really like the ability to remove the "new" tag without having to mark it as "read". It would also be great to have the option to choose whether previous episodes of a podcast you subscribe to are tagged as new or not.
For example, there are several podcasts I have subscribed to that have a back catalogue of 100+ episodes. I will only listen to a small handful as I have time. Like others have mentioned, marking all as read means I won't know which I have listened to but not marking them as read means that the orange new episodes flag is useless. It means that the current arrangement doesn't give me the information that it intends to.

I love this idea. I think it could work if instead of episodes just being read or unread, there were two types of unread - new or archive. When you subscribe to a podcast, all current episodes will be marked as archive. Then whenever a new episode is posted, that will get marked as new. Right now unread episodes are noted by the orange triangle in the top right corner, so archive episodes could be in the top left corner in a blue triangle.
Would be great if you could also separate the podcasts by unread new or archive episodes.

Just wanted to piggy-back on this and say that the ability to hide/archive both individual episodes and entire podcasts would be nice. Two scenarios where it's useful:
- subscribed to a podcast, listened to some of it, don't want to listen to it, but also don't want to discard the fact that you have seen it and decided not to listen
- completed a podcast that has ended; don't want it cluttering your list of active podcasts anymore but don't want to throw out old favorites/downloads/etc.It's possible to approximate this with categories, but it's a little tedious/manual.
