Ref Edward Petersen "In fact, you can try it right now just by signing out and then back in again. Just be sure not to select a backup and overwrite your current state!" How do you sign out?

Xavier Guillemane just contacted me. Just for those who are looking for the answer ... The Google API that Podcast Addict is using sends the file to a "hidden" folder on your Google Drive. It's association with your Google Drive is only really seen by the user in how much data (barely any) it uses of your storage quota. But otherwise, Google is just asking us to trust them that the backup has been stored. There is no way to verify that it is there.
That said, just for my own education on it, I setup Podcast addict fresh on a device. As Xavier's email to me stated, when you click the "Sign In" it offers you a whole list of backup files to restore. In fact, you can try it right now just by signing out and then back in again. Just be sure not to select a backup and overwrite your current state!

I'm wondering this too. @Anonymous says they found it in the Google Drive app settings, but my settings do not have a section titled "ManagedApps". And all my searching online seems to point me to full-device backups stored in Google Drive. And when I look at those, there is not enough information: browser - preview is almost uselessly broad, app - you can drill down to the apps, but podcast addict is not listed.
I assumed this feature was creating a backup file and uploading it, but maybe that is too simple.

Ah... I think I figured it out! The app keeps backup in a hidden folder you can't see, but if you go to Settings... Managed Apps in Google Drive app you can see that Podcast Addict has got some data!

I am also trying to confirm where the Google Drive backup file is. The backup option says it has uploaded it, but I can't find it. Need to factory reset my phone, guess I should take a local backup copy off in case, but does this automatic Google Drive backup feature work?!

I have the same question as Edward Simpson. Where does the Google Drive backup go and/or how do I select my synced Google Drive as the backup location to store the file? Thank you!

Edward Simpson commented
I ran a manual backup and choose Upload to Drive at the end. However, I cannot find where the file is stored on my Google Drive. The same goes for automatic backup.

A 1st Beta allowing automatic full backup to a local folder will be available in a couple of hours. This is a work in progress so please provide some feedback by email so this feature can be improved (Settings/Feedback/Email)

I just moved my votes to this one, which is a superset:
https://podcastaddict.uservoice.com/forums/211997-general/suggestions/19459405-allow-for-full-automatic-backups-to-cloud-storageI'd rather not have to deal with yet another app as a synchronizer.
Also, when I support my not-very-technical family and friends: simpler is much better.
Thank you Xavier for a really great app!!! -

You can send your local backups to the cloud automatically with Tasker or with any of several different sync programs like FolderSync. For myself, I prefer keeping cloud backups under the control of a dedicated sync app.

Same as https://podcastaddict.uservoice.com/forums/211997-general/suggestions/4998585-add-automatic-backups?
I see here two things:
- Allow and choose when to do local full autobackups. Not just subscriptions. For instance, every night locally, while charging. It saves (usually) to the SDCARD.
- Google API backup. I have just restored my phone. I previously had the automatic restore from Google Backup, but now it is not present. I guess the dev removed in porpuse. Good be great to have it back.
