Cross device synchronization
Would be great to be able to synchronize subscriptions, playlist, read status, ... between devices
Just a heads up regarding the latest version of the app. It doesn’t provide cross device syncing yet, but it allows you to sign in to your Google Drive account and have all your data automatically backed up to make sure they are safe at all time. It also makes restoring the data on a new device really easy.
You can go into Settings/Backup to enable this and sign-in
Thanks

@Anonymous the app will never be able to sync status with iTunes.
Apple doesn't provide such APIs, so that's not possible -

I'll buy the donate version if you add the ability to sync read status with iTunes.

What is the status on this? Don't see it as of 3/2016...

@Xavier, Do you really need to use your own servers to do the cloud sync? With so many free cloud options and so many people having Dropbox, Google Drive, etc... maybe it would be better to make this feature work with a client > cloud service direct interface, not using your servers for anything. I know this would work great for backup (whatsapp uses it) the only thing you need to check is the performance for device sync "real time" features (like continuing a podcast from the same point on another device)....
Also, I agree that you should put this feature as a premium one. You will get more conversion out of it, as you deserve. :) -

Would pay subscription for auto sync. Tried the others that have it, but they lack the granularity of functions and features available in Addict.

I have itunes on my macbook and Podcast Addict on my android phone, and would love it if there was a way for those to sync up. Failing that I'd also use an OSX version of Podcast Addict if it would sync. Would be happy to pay for it because I've been using Podcast Addict for a while now and it's working out very well for me, it has a lot of functions burt is still pretty easy to use.

Looking forward to podcast synch as I can't take my work device when on holidays and can't use my personal device while at work
Anytime in the next week would be perfect for me. No pressure ;-) -
@Matt
Thanks for the information, but unfortunately I cannot ask for this permission as it doesn't make any sense for a podcast app to use the camera.
Also their API isn't complete for now and only basic information can be synced. -

The people of PodLove actually love podcasts, this is why they created a free syncing backend for all podcast clients to use, maybe this is something for you?
At least it is intended to stay around for longer, and additionally it is cross-platform capable and not specific to one app/developer, especially regarding maintenance and costs.http://doc.pod.care/ contains the documentation.
Using this would require a new permission (camera) though. -

Is this something that could benefit from a small subscription? I'd be willing to pay for syncing across devices.

@zed
I tried to contact them to ask some questions but I didn't get any answer.
It looks like it's missing some features, and there's no way to know if their server can handle the charge. Finally I already started working twice on this feature and both times the solution I chose was deprecated... I want to make sure this won't happen again -

why not use the excellent open source and free gpodder.net to do the syncing?

@Max C.
Dropbox has deprecated is Sync API, so this isn't a solution anymore -

I wonder maybe it could use existing cloud storage options like drive and dropbox vs running own servers?
