I understand the widget advice but many will not. If it was in settings is would clearly be available as an option.

Please take a look at the FAQs which explain how to change the app opening screen. You just have to replace Podcast Addict launcher icon with a widget called 'Playlist' in your case.
To do so, you need to proceed like when you add any kind of widget on your device (it might work differently depending on your device, but usually you need to long press on an empty spot on your device home screen, then select widget)

Please help those of us that are not smartphone experts. I've spent an hour searching through every tree of settings I can find, Googling, and checking the Playstore, and I canNOT figure out either a) where in heck these shortcuts are and how to enable them, or b) whether or not I've got v1.22. I don't need detailed step-by-step nor pictures, but I do need SOME CLUE where to look. What's apparently easy for those who use smartphones all the time is a complete mystery to folks like me.

I would rather see this implemented as a option rather than the widgets as widgets cannot be used in the Samsung recommended apps bar which is where I launch from. Thank you for providing a workaround.
