Change playlist order with drag & drop
Just to have the possibility to move up/down one element in the playlist
It’s already the case. Just drag and drop items using the handle on the left of each rows

On the playlist screen, tap the icon that shows two arrows, one up one down.
This will bring up the sort configuration.
The Sort By field has a dropdown that puts the Manual(Drag&Drop) option waaaay at the top. Tap up up up until you can select Manual.
After that you should be able to order by drag/drop or by the handles on the left of each entry.

Yes but how to start a different playlist? How to set order of one playlist first then play another?

There is no way to manually reorder the playlist. Very irritating

My playlist drag-and-drop ordering has stopped working. Is there a setting for that, or do I need to reload the app?

I have found it, the manual sort was there but not displaying, I had to scroll UP in the options to go back to it.

To clarify what is wanted, I like the episodes to be sorted as they come in the newest added to the end of the playlist, but then I sometimes want to manually move them around.
I recently used the automatic sort by date because for some reason they had gotten sorted in my playlist be podcast feed. Now I can't figure out how to get back to manual sorting.

@Amanda
Please send me an email in case you have a question so I can help (Settings/Feedback)
The problem you describe means that the sorting mode has been changed. Press on the playlist sort button and restore the manual mode to fix this.
Thanks -

My playlist doesn't have handles on the left of the playlist rows. They went away after an app update. Is there a way to get them back, so I can "drag and drop" playlist order?

automatic sort always gives me like nr12,13,14,16,15,17,18,19,20.
Why wouldn't auto sort & manual combine,it already does with "move to top' move to bottom" just add "move 1 up" & "move 1 down" .Sorting auto errors with just "move to bottom" sucks. -

The use case I had in the previous version was: sort by date and then bring some preferred episodes to the start of the playlist.
The way to achieve this in the current version is to apply a sort, switch to manual to regain the drag&drop handles, then bring the preferred episodes to the top. While not impossible, it is harder to do it on the new version due to the option changes required. However, I'm aware that it doesn't make sense to have both automated and manual sorting active.
Maybe this isn't such a common use-case, and I understand if you won't change the behaviour. One possible solution would be to keep the drag&drop handles always visible, but automatically switch the sorting to "manual" when episodes were manually moved in the playlist. -
I don't understand what you want to do exactly. You either want a manual sort (drag and drop) or an automatic sort. Can you please explain to me what you are trying to do?
For me it looks like you only need to use Manual -

I liked the old behaviour, but I understand that it may be impossible to revert to it due to the automated sorting.

I don't understand what you want to do. Prior to this version you could sort once and then reorder as you which. Now when you select a sort order it will apply to every episode added to the playlist. You cannot have an automatic sort AND a manual sort. It's one or the other

Since the "order by..." options were expanded, we have to select "manual" order to be able to use drag&drop but this was not the case before. Could we get back drag & drop when a default order is selected?
