Communicate title via Bluetooth
If an app provides title metadata via intent, then a car radio or any other display connected via bluetooth could display track title or even display a cover image (if both devices support this, this is since AVRCP 1.3)
Delivered in the last version v2.7
Thanks Mattias for the information and your tests !

Regarding the issue, the app updates the metada every 5s, so I don't understand how they could still display an older episode information. I'm sorry but I don't have any clue why it's behaving like that -

Podcast Addict App shows correct Bluetooth metadata at start after playing from another audio source like Google music, but when a new podcast starts, the old podcast metadata is still showing and continues to show through all future podcasts. It doesn't change to the current podcast. I am using a Nexus 6P on a 2015 Honda.

I just did a small modification. I you're interested in testing a beta version please let me know at podcastaddict@gmail.com

It seems that the com.android.music.metachanged intent is needed to display the metadata (like artist/title) properly.
Here is a more clear example:

I see this using a Nexus 4 and connecting my pebble smartwatch.
You can take a look at this patch that someone did to make spotify work with AVRCP:https://github.com/loganakamatsu/SpotifyAVRCP/blob/master/spotify_avrcp.patch
I really like podcast addict, and it would be nice to have it work perfectly over AVRCP.

Hi, same issue here, Google Play Music works fine via Bluetooth (e.g. the BT device displays track title), Podcast Addict doesn't. Android 4.1.2.

I don't use any manufacterer API. I only use the default Intent that any BT device should be able to receive and display.
I tested it with success on a couple of BT receivers.
Maybe yours isn't compatible with this kind of metainfo sending, but I don't see other generic way to do it...
Can you please open a ticket (use the Contact support button) with this information so I don't forget to search for an alternative.
Thanks -

Hm, cannot second this - my car radio displays nothing for your app, but does e.g. for "Google Play Music". Do you use the official Android 4.2 API or Samsung proprietary API? I own a Google Nexus with Android 4.3

The app already displays metadata information over BT
