update only on specified time frame (i.e. *not* at night for example) it would save battery.
My podcasts are only morning radio shows.
It would be perfect to have automatic downloads from 8am to 1pm then a "sleep mode" without connexions to save/optimize battery.

@Xavier I have a same issue to. Every time the device opens the app, it starts updating my 46 subscriptions. The settings are: automatic refresh 5pm + 12hrs and refresh on startup = disabled. With this settings, i think, should never happend a update exept at 5pm and 5am.
Your function to repeat updates if something goes wrong, is good, but seemed to turn into the worst in the outside world. Maybe, its possible to just do this repeat updates only 1 time in the half of the next planed update (+6hrs in my case) and not everytime.

Todd, do you have "Refresh on startup" checked? I've never seen this behavior (I just have a once-a-day update at 5:30 am so they're ready when I leave for work).

Hi,
It means that somehow your update has been interrupted or some feeds failed to refresh so on next re connection the app tries to complete the update process

I have the "auto update" set to check every day at midnight, because I only need it once a day. But every time I change an internet connection it checks again. So going from WiFi to 4G, check for updates. Going from 4G to 3G, check for updates. 3G to 4G again, check for updates. It really drains the battery, especially while driving on a long road trip with intermittent speed coverage.
