Disable bluetooth auto play
whenever i connect my phone to my Bluetooth audio receiver my latest podcast starts automatically playing and I can't find option to disable this feature. Please help!
Hi,
Please to report an issue use the Contact support button on this website. Current section is for asking new features.
There’s no such feature in the app. But the app handles external message asking it to start playing.
So if you’re using apps like tasked or connect to and android compatible device that can send such a command then it explains the behavior.
You can disable those external commands in settings/player but lock screen widget will not work anymore…
Thx
Xavier

Solution (I think): Auto-play with Podcast Addict
I get this behavior with Podcast Addict whenever I connect to the car but this is by BT OR by audio cable.
Try unticking "Resume on Connection" in Settings > Headset/Bluetooth.
Means you have to manually start Podcast each time disconnect from one mode of connection/play and start another mode -

Go to Settings, Applications, Application Manager, and then Modify System Settings. Find the player that is starting (for me it's Samsung Music) and switch the toggle to OFF. Another workaround if other methods fail if the android phone always use the same music player to autoplay when Bluetooth is connected.for more visit https://www.epsonprintersupport247.com/fix-epson-printer-offline/

I understand this is a error in the car software, however since millions of people own fords and ford is not going to change this software it would be nice if we can have a feature where all bluetooth commends are enabled except play, so we will have to start the podcasts on the phone and once it runs we can fast forward, rewind pause ect from the car
call it the ford sync mode :)

@Lee Winkler
Podcast Republic is a different app.
If you're facing the issue with that app please contact their support. If the issue is with Podcasts Addict please send me an email (Settings/Feedback)
Thanks -

Xavier, your response makes sense... you can do this but it will disable being able to control your phone via the car... BUT, that only makes sense when the app is already open. Last night I did some testing, it is actually LAUNCHING the app when I switch to my bluetooth device in my car.. ie...I killed the app entirely...was not running at all... when I went from radio to bluetooth, the Podcast Republic app launched and started playing. There must be a listener/service running to allow this to happen, right? This is the feature that needs either turned off or optioned...

I also have this problem! I don't want the pod to autoplay when I get in the car since it is not always appropriate timing. What happens then is that you loose a few seconds of your your pod every time.

@Anonymous
There's no BT autoplay unless you enable this in the app Settings/Player/Behaviour
However the app will react to the remote commands it receives.
Some BT receiver will automatically send a play command as soon as the BT source is selected like Ford SYNC for example. In that case the app will automatically start playing.
Unfortunately this cannot be disabled in Ford SYNC settings. You can disable Podcast Addict remote commands if you want to avoid this, but then you won't be able to control the app from your BT receiver afterwards. -

+2 for this feature, same for me when I get in my car.

@Anonymous
There's no BT autoplay unless you enabled playback upon headset/BT connection in the app settings.
The issue is that some car BT receiver are sending a play command when a device connects. As a result the app currently listening to remote commands on your device will then automatically start playing. The only solution is to disable this on the BT receiver, but most of them don't allow to do so -

+1 for this feature. When my phone connects to my car Bluetooth, the app starts automatically. It should be possible to stop this behaviour in the app please.
