Option to import mp3 files (old podcasts from previously used podcast app)
Some podcast providers delete their old podcasts after certain days (public radio stations in Germany after few weeks)
As some of my favorite podcast episodes are no longer available but I do have them downloaded with my previous podcast app (podkicker) that allows me to export them as mp3 files, I would love to integrate them into podcast addict.
Could be even expanded to import my audiobooks and make my audiobook player obsolete.
One app for my audios would be a dream!
Keep up the good work!
You can already do this. Press the + button and add a virtual podcast. Select the folder that contains the mp3 files and it’s content will be displayed like a new podcast

Please add these instructions to the FAQ as "How to play songs or podcasts saved on my phone" or "How to import mp3 files saved on my phone". I hard reset my phone and trying to find the right search query to locate this page was a long process.

This is the proper way to create a virtual podcast -

In the newest version, it does not say "virtual podcast" as an option. You can still add a podcast from local files, though. From the podcast screen, click +, then click the folder icon in the top right, then navigate to your local folder with the audio files and click ok.

I have the same problem. But when I press the + button in the main window I don't have the virtual podcast as option. I only see:
- Search
-ITunes
- RSS
- Match
- OpmlWhere can I add a virtual podcast?
Thanks in advance

@Vic Norman
You cannot add files into the storage folder
The app will not see them.
You can create a Virtual podcast if you want the app to display some local files as a podcast.

Doesn't seem to be working for me :( I've got Frank Skinner podcasts downloaded as mp3 files from 2011, but the app can't find them in the folder :(

@Bobby
I had a couple episodes on my computer of a podcast I'm subscribed to in Podcast Addict. Since I didn't feel like downloading them again, I moved them from my computer to the folder that PA would normally store them in. PA didn't see them. I used the method that Xavier mentioned, but when I navigated to the folder in the virtual podcast section, PA still didn't see them. But I selected "OK" and the podcasts magically appeared in the podcast listing. Hope this helps. -

Hello Xavier! I downloaded podcast files from Luke`s English Podcast. They are all have names like this: 48. Useful Expressions for Travelling.mp3dest-id=511319 and PA doesn`t see them. I tried to delete dest-id=511319, no use! How can I fix it? Thanks in advance!
