Add support for Sonos.
Change directory where downloaded podcasts are stored to make it compatible with Sonos. https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2198/~/playing-podcasts-wirelessly-from-your-android-device
The upcoming beta (v3.40) will remove the ‘podcast’ subfolder but only when you select the device ‘Podcasts’ library path to store downloaded files.
Make sure to return into Settings/Download/Storage folder to do so.
Please let me know how it works for you (Settings/Feedback)
Thanks

It's the Sonos app job to extract the episode metadata. Maybe the podcast owner doesn't provide any, in which case you will see 'unknown' -

I followed your guide. And sonos now plays My podcast addict podcasts. THANKS! BUT... The name/title on each podcast doesn't show in the sonos app.
Sonos says <unknown> do you know why? -
@Richard Stratton
Sonos only support files which are stored in the device library folders. Therefore it won't work -

How can I get my Sonos to play podcasts stored on the phone's SD card?

I agree - the setting that allows us to put our podcasts wherever we want does not work as expected. If I say /Podcasts it should put them there, not in a sub folder that I have no control over. I've also logged this as an issue with Sonos. One or both of you really should be able to fix this in an afternoon. If you're worried about me giving you a folder that has other stuff in it, just dictate the folder must be empty when I chose it. If I'm dumb and manually put stuff in that folder later, break. You must have code that handles that now, since nothing stops me from putting garbage in the configured folder.

Yes but the app needs this intermediate sub folder, so Until Sonos can handle multiple level of subfolders it wont work

Yes but there's still a problem as PA creates the /podcast subdirectory instead of being able tu use directly the existing /podcasts directory… to try to be clear : currently it give ../podcasts/podcast/file.mp3 and Sonos do not find the files. It could be read by Sonos if it was ../podcasts/file.mp3. Thanks Otherwise great app !
