Have podcasts automatically play the next episodes in a series
Edit: delivered in v3.9
==========
Next version of the app will include a new playlist mode called ‘Automatic podcast playlist’ (at least for now).
This mode will disable the current playlist and all the ‘add to playlist’ / ‘remove from playlist’ menus and buttons.
When selected, this mode will work like this:
Start playing an episode. The app will automatically build a playlist with all the unread episodes of the current podcast. If you press the play button on an episode from another podcast, the app will clear the current playlist and build a new one for the new podcast.
Please join the beta group to test this new feature as soon as it’s available (http://podcastaddict.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/253911-how-to-join-the-beta-program). Feel free to let me know what you think about it. Every feedback is welcome.
Thanks
Edit: a new beta has just been published with this new feature. It should soon be live. Please test it and let me know if you have any issue or some feedback.
Thanks

How to set up auto play next EP?

@RobC
The app does this automatically once you enable Continuous playback. You will find more detail on this in the FAQs.
Pls send me an email in case you have any question -

The app will only start playing when it receives a play command.
Most car BT receiver will do this automatically when a BT receiver connects while the selected source is BT. If you select FM, then playback won't start.
sorry I cannot be more helpful -

How do i turn this off? My car likes to force podcast addict to start playing something if I have an in progress track. Even if it's only 2 seconds remaining. What keeps happening is that the autoplay starts up stuff I don't want to hear or have already heard. Even if I stop it the next time I start my car it will resume playback of that track, it's so annoying.

I recently got a new ipod and cannot figure out how to make the podcasts play continuous. I cant find it on any list. Also when I choose one hour it stops at the end of a podcast that is less than an hour, it does not go to the next episode.
Thanks. -

Something changed or I've done something to my playlist option. When I download a podcast, it doesn't automatically add to my playlist anymore. Going through the playlist option screen, the Automatic Playlist option is grayed out and won't let me select it. Also, at the same time this problem began, when I download an MP3, it's doing so through podcast addict, not the Android Music app. I've cleared the default settings and tried to re-initiate both of these, but to no avail. Any guidance? Thanks.

I used to be able to play my podcasts continuously. How do I enable this feature with the new operating system update?

@Anonymous, If you want it to stop after the current episode is over, start your episode, and then touch the "alarm clock" icon at the top right of the screen. It is the "sleep timer" and will give you an option to make it stop after 15, 30, 45, 60 minutes, or just click the box to stop at the end of the current episode. Works very well for me, every night.

@Anonymous
The app only plays the current episode by default.
If it plays other episode after the current one ended it means that you r playlist contains more episode.

I want to listen to a single podcast episode before I go to sleep at night, but when the chosen episode is finished, the next podcast ( and the next etc...) plays on. How can I limit things to a single episode? I asked a so called Genius at the Apple store and they couldn't help. It seems so elementary, I'm baffled.

@dc
If you enable 'Continuous playback', episodes are added and played following your podcast screen sorting setting.
Then if you want to change the episode sorting you just have to open the player queue and reorder them manually or using the toolbar 'Sort' button.
You can access the player queue by opening the player screen and swiping to the right.

i still don't get it. why don't you add a 'play in sorted order' option? even with the auto playlist, i can't figure out how to make it play the items in chronological order. ie, podcast episode #1 followed by #2 followed by #3. this is the order i *always* want podcasts to play, so i can catch up from the beginning. thank you.

I'm so mad. Auto play the next episode should not only be the default behavior but I should not need configure more then a single check box to get it to work. I can't find a single app in play that handles this correctly. Downcast. An ios only app did this simple thing flawlessly.

@Jennifer you can manage the order of the queue. To do so, open the player screen, swipe right to show the queue content, and use the sort toolbar button to change the order

Is there a way to make the continuous playlist go in chronological order? I can sort them that way, but when it gets to the end of an episode it goes on to the previous one like I hadn't changed anything. So it seems like the sort function just changes the view, and not the play order.

@Anonymous
Nothing as been removed.
As explain here and in the app changelog, the apop now uses a new default playback mode. You can switch to the previous behavior by selecting 'Global playlist' in Settings/Playlist/Playlist mode
