Add a secondary (and possibly 3rd) sorting priority to playlist
I have my playlist set to sort by priority, and right now that's all I can do. I'd like to be able to sort by priority THEN by date published. I'd imagine maybe a number (1) (2) (3) identifier in the sorting options could be added for this.

Available in v3.38
==========
Sorry for the delay…
This feature will be available in v3.38 but only for the playlist
Edit: A beta with this feature will be available within the hour.
Please test it and let me know how it works for you so I can customize it before releasing the final version.
Thanks

I'm looking for this feature and can't find it. How do I play a series of mp3s in alphabetical order. Right now they're sitting in order they were sync'd on to the device (for a folder based podcast)

@Pilot Sorry but I don't understand your comment. Please send me an email with more detail (Settings/Feedback)

The multi sort order is great. Sitting the first time was awesome.
However now when I try to edit the sort order it takes me or if the play list to the podcasts list

Wanted to ask the time frame for this update. This is my most desired change! Any ideas how long it will take?

Is there a time frame on this development?

My proposal would be to be able to define a playlist sorting order on criteria that you want.
For example:
- start by the recent episodes from the "News" category
- then go to "Favourite podcasts" category and play according to remaining time
- then go to the oldest episodes from the category "Podcasts that their owner removes old episodes from their website"
- then play the Physics podcast in alphabetical order
- then play the Phylosophy channel in the duration orderThis automatic list should be triggered whenever the playlist is or becomes empty.
FYI, Beyond Pod has had this feature for a long time, very nicely implemented.
As such, categories would be more useful, as I suggested in this other comment: https://podcastaddict.uservoice.com/forums/211997-general/suggestions/13515495-should-be-able-to-perfom-operations-on-all-podcast

This is my top request also. Currently when I sort by priority, the OLDEST episodes within a certain priority play first. I would like the NEWEST episodes within a given priority to play first (via a secondary sort). I don't see the use for a tertiary sort, but perhaps others would.
In response to PILOT -- if you set two (or many) podcasts to the SAME priority number, PA will indeed alternate among the podcasts. (At least that's my experience - perhaps it's just playing them in date order).

An add-on sort that would be really Awesome, would be to set the play list to prevent two episodes from the same podcast feed right next to each other. I am subscribed to 40+ podcasts and listen to almost every episode of each, as well as going back and pulling all interesting podcasts in a new feed. I have too high a rate of change to want to manual sort that many new podcasts, yet when I listen to back episodes it would be nice to have the variety of listening to alternating podcasts as supposed to listening to large blocks of one then another our having to manual sort that many episodes.

The manual ordering of the playlist has always been there.
Nothing related to the playlist sorting has been modified for month.
Please contact me in case of an issue using the contact support button.

I think this worked... Until recently.
Some the manual ordering of the playlist was implemented (vers. 3.8?) the priority set to podcasts seems to be ignored.
