Allow users to add their own content to Podcast addict and allow other users to listen to them.
I just started a podcast with a few friends and I plan on making way more episodes. I want to allow my content onto Podcast addict, any ideas on hnow I can do that for the listener base to discover me?

Change Podcast/Playlist menu item in top left
I used to use BeyondPod for years, so maybe that's influenced the way I think, but I think it might be a lot easier to undersant if instead of having a big Playlist/Podcast item in the top left that changes depending on what screen you are on, to something that doesn't change. I'm thinking you could have three large buttons which would fit within the same space - one that goes to the Podcast screen, one that goes to the Playlist screen, and one that goes to the Player screen. Currently I find myself hitting the button multiple times either…

More friendly backup and restore from cloud (I talk about not direct syncyng with servers)
There is already exists an option to save backup to device, than share it to cloud.
But
If i want to restore my podcasts from cloud (for sync purposes) i have to go to cloud (google drive for example) than download backup, than find it from addict app than apply it
It is suggestion to have an opportunity save your and restore youur backup in single instance directly to google drive. It is already done in some android apps. Andromoney for example

Consider adding a warning about App Data deleting OPML and full database backups
Episode descriptions were not being displayed, so I decided to wipe app data and see if some corruption in the configuration database was causing it. I did OPML and full backup, the then wiped app cache and data. To my surprise, that action wiped the backup files in their directories as well (though it left the folders in place); now I'll need to recover my feed list by wracking my brain. Not a LOT of feeds, but some other user with hundreds could get quite upset.

add more options to the player behavior
As of right now, the podcsst player either lowers the volume or pauses when there is an external notification. What sbout adding a third option so the notifications can be heard without altering the current episode.

let us filter the "All Episodes" view by category.
This would be great for reading things like comics, where you want all new comics across all of the subscriptions, but don't want to see the various other podcasts.

add the ability to distinguish between 'read' and ' played'
Inwould like to be able to download episodes that are marked as 'unplayed' but 'read', which means I can more easily see which feeds I have 'unread' and undownloaded episodes in.

This feature requires a major update of the app as it hasn’t been built with the possibility to switch between light and dark theme.
This means that implementing a light theme will take some time and might break things with the current dark themes.If you want to help me test this, please join the alpha using the following URL: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.bambuna.podcastaddict
I will try to publish a first version next week.
This will not break the app, however, the colors and icons will not be the final choice and there might be issues with the text color / icon colors not being contrasted enough with the first few iterations.

Offer an Android L Style UI
I would love to have a theme option that would unify this app with other newly skinned Android L interfaces. I am a big fan of the changes made in presentation on 5.0 and would like an option for this app to represent something similar.

Add an "suprise me" option
A little bit like suprise me on TED (http://www.ted.com/surpriseme):
- I got, let's say, 25 Minutes on my hand and don't know what to listen to.
- So the surprise me option will choose several episodes by random; but the total playlist time will be under 25 minutes.

include "Add to Playlist Position" as a custom setting
I would like to have specific podcasts insert the next episode as the next played podcast while the others continue to insert at the end of the playlist.

add an option to end playback after a specific episode
It is possible to add an option to end the playback after a specific episode (not only the first one) ? It could be added to the context menu of the episodes in the playlist. Like: "End after this episode".

Add favorite button in widget to avoid autodelete.
I have auto delete mode podcast and when I am driving is dificult to avoid autodelete an interesting podcast.

Add a button that will assemble all of the currently unread episodes semi-randomly in a playlist that resembles a broadcast schedule
Options would include episodes always appearing in order (per show), attempting to have an episode end at given intervols (having a new episode starting near the start of every hour to aid in understanding the passage of time), having shows of similar episode length phase back and forth, attempt to mix genres when possible, Never have two episodes of the same show back to back, periodically inject time or weather announcements via google text to speach API between shows. And anything else that would help to prevent burnout on a podcast during many-hour listening sessions such as during work.

scrolling fast forward / backward
In the Player, implement forward and backward control using a scrolling finger action just like many video players have (like VLC for Android) so the user can control precisely how much to fast forward instead of using a single hardcoded value (15s).
