  1. Priority queueing based on queue score

    Priority queueing based on queue score

    I suggest an interesting variant of priority queuing,
    based on both the priority and age simulataneously,
    similar to one used in some P2P software with request queue management.

    Podcast channels would be assigned priorities as until now.

    But the queue position would NOT be like
    sorted by priority, than by release_age.

    It would be sorted by queuescore = prioritymultiplier * releaseage
    where priority    multiplier = 2^(priority -1)

    So 8(exactly) days old episode with priority 1 would have the same queue score and as
    4(exactly) days old episode with priority 2, or…

    Hey, I implemented a similar feature in the latest Beta of the app as a test.
    Can you please join the Beta on the app Play Store page and then download the latest update
    Then please go into Settings/Playlist and enable ‘Smart priority sorting’
    Please let me know how this works for you so I can know if this makes sense to have this in the next version of the app

    FYI this takes into account priority and episode release date

  4. Set Playback Speed per Playlist or Genre.

    For example, I'd like to have my news podcasts played at 1.5x with my music podcasts played at 1x. Or I'm on my own and like to listen at 1.7x, but someone joins me in the car so I'd like to switch it back to 1x so it doesn't drive them nuts.

  5. Add a "fit to screen" option for video podcasts

    I'd love to be able to utilize the entire screen of my phone for video podcasts, and with phones getting larger and larger it would be great to be able to use the whole screen. I've been using Podcast Addict for years and hands down it's the best podcast app out there. Love your work guys! Keep it up!!

  6. Add episodes from FTP or HTTP directory

    Hello, it will be really good if we could add as a podcast an FTP directory or an HTTP directory. For instance ftp://ftp.iac.es/pub/pcoffeebreak/

    Have an option to select a directory where every folder in it would automatically be set up as a virtual podcast.

    New beta now works differently. When you select a folder containing sub folders, the app asks you if you want to create a single podcast or as many podcasts as there are subfolders.
    If you select the later, adding a new subfolder in your device memory later will not automatically create a new virtual podcast in the app

  8. I would like to see a feature that would automatically pause or stop playback when power is disconnected.

    I currently do this function with Tasker, but it would be nice to have a setting within the app to do this. There is a similar function for when headphones are disconnected, but not power.

  9. add Jupiter Broadcasting network

    I really love podcast addict, so much so that I paid for the donation version to help out. I was wondering if it is possible to get Jupiter Broadcasting added to the list of networks. They mainly deal with tech news, linux, and stuff like that - but they've been going for over 10 years! And still going strong with new shows being added soon, and revamping some old ones.

    When a new episode or group of episodes is found, allow "quick reply" of downloading the episode. This way, the functionality matches that of downloaded episodes.

  11. Radio buffer for fast forward and rewind.

  12. have a condensed player for when the app is in split screen

    When on long car rides, I like to put Podcast Addict in split screen on my Nexus 5x with my navigation app, but the app doesn't get very small; it usually takes up about 40% of the screen. It would be great if I could make the app about 1/8 of the screen height showing just play/pause, ff, rew buttons (and maybe cover art if there's room) so that the majority of the screen is the navigation app. (This is the case even if the donation is purchased.)

  13. Show downloaded podcasts first, then the feed in podcast listing

    I want to listen to the old downloaded podcasts first. I set sort "from old to new". But I also want to see the new podcast in the feed first, and with this order set I have to scroll to the bottom to do it.

    Please add an option show downloaded podcasts first with it's own order, then the podcasts in the feed with it's own order too.

  16. Start a live stream automatically if the playlist of downloaded podcast is empty

    I hear podcasts during sport and therefore it would be nice to have an option allowing me to set a live stream which starts to play automatically if the playlist is empty. Then I don't have to pause sport to start the live stream of my favorite online radio.

  17. Playlist sort by last time played

    Is there a way to sort podcasts in playlist by which ones you have started to listen to most recently or least recently?

    Sometimes I listen to one and can't finish whole podcast, but when I go back in to playlist I can't easily find the one I was just listening to but hadn't finished. It would be like a browser history, in a way, but not only finished podcasts.

    I think it would be great for the statistics to be exported as text and not as a JPEG. They could be used in a program, then.

  19. Have episodes marked as read be counted in the listening statistics

    I recently moved to Podcast Addict from another app and I'm absolutely loving it.
    However, there are podcasts that I fully listened to in the previous app which aren't counted in the listening statistics. Marking them as read doesn't add them to the total listening time. I could manually go through each episode and skip through it but obviously it would save a lot of time if marking a series of podcasts as read adds the total listening time of that podcast to the stats.
