wider progress bar in portrait mode
The progress bar of the audio player doesn't use the hole width of the screen in portrait mode because of the time codes to its left an right. This makes it harder to skip to a certain point on a long podcast. I suggest that the two time codes will be moved above the progress bar to make it larger.
This is already the case if I switch to landscape but I would like it to be like that in portrait as well because my phone is normally locked in portrait mode.4 votes -

Play youtube videos using internal player
This would be useful because it would enable us to build playlists with youtube videos, resume videos where we stopped and mark them as read and remove from when they finish.
A behaviour like audio podcasts.
This is not a request to download or play youtube videos offline, the idea is to use streaming.
Just an idea, don't know if it is possible.

Ramp up to accelerated speed
Sometimes if listening to a podcast at a faster pace, it's a little jarring when you press play. It would be nice to ramp up to the accelerated speed over an adjustable length of time. For example, of listening at 2x, pressing play would have it go from 1x to 2x gradually over a space of, say, 20 seconds

Add casting support to Roku
This is the best podcast app by far. My only gripe is that I routinely find myself longing to cast my podcasts from this app to my roku. If it becomes complicated to make it work for all Rokus then I'd suggest to focus efforts to make it compatible with the latest versions of the Roku 2 Roku 3, and the Roku streaming stick. I hope you can make it happen. Thank you.

Next version will allow you to select if you want to filter episodes list screen by podcast (like it is right now) or by category. If you select the later, then you can easily select the episodes for a specific category to apply an action like download, mark played, add to playlist, …

I would love to see a few basic Android Wear features to accompany the application. It would be great to be able to :
-Browse Podcasts
-Play Podcasts (Start/Pause/Stop/Rewind/etc) (Technically this does work to some extent)

-Basic Voice Controls to search for a specific podcast/channel

Swipe from main screen to remove from Playlist
Quickly remove podcasts from Playlist by allowing to swipe to remove from anywhere, and mainly the home screen.

Revert back to player controls at audio podcast launch
Revert back to large icon player controls at audio podcast launch
The latest updated shows small banner at bottom of podcast with pause control only. Previous version had large icon player controls upon launching the podcast which was simple and convenient while driving.
New UI requires an additional tap of small bottom podcast banner to access large icon player controls.

Add an "are you there?" mode
I know there is a timer in player mode (since today, that is) but what I'm looking for is an option to play continuously and, by a set amount of time, ask your attention like an alarm dismiss or notification and if you don't answer it slowly fades playing until stop so to not get you startled. Thanks for the great app anyway.

Voice control to skip fwd X seconds
I mostly listen while commuting in my old car which has no Bluetooth support. I do no want to touch my phone while driving (safety first) but do want to skip commercials. How about a voice command that let's me skip forward X seconds. That would be awesome.

Update podcast picture with latest episode's art
It'd be nice to automatically update the podcasts album art with the latest episode's album art. The only problem would be if the art is user-set, then it should stay the same. In most (of my) cases the art is grabbed from the latest episode when the podcast is added so when new episodes are discovered it'd be nice to update it. A podcast that changes art with every episode is "no agenda" if you need something to test against.

Make a change to the sort logic for Podcast view
The "Podcast" page, when set to show unread only, and sorted by publication date (newest first), gives a somewhat confusing result when a podcast has older unread episodes. It sorts based on the podcast's last publication date, rather than the publication date of the most recent unread episode. As a result, if I've listened to the new episode of a podcast, but have older ones I haven't caught up with, it still sorts ahead of podcasts with newer episodes.

add an episode filter on published day
There is currently an "episode filter" that allows you to only update / download episodes of a particular type (audio/video etc), or include or exclude episodes with keywords.
I'd like to be able to filter episodes by the day they were published.
The reason for this feature request is that I listen to a few podcasts that publish content multiple times per week, but I prefer to just listen to the episodes they publish on Sundays and not the rest of the week, so currently I update them manually, but if I could filter them by day of week I…

New sleep timer option
I would love an option to stop at the end of the episode that's currently playing when the sleep timer has ended (i.e. my kids should go to sleep at a about certain time (set in the sleep timer option), but allowed to finish the episode that's is currently playing when the timer ends).
One solution would be to change the "Stop at the end of the current episode" to "Stop at the end of the episode". If no Sleep time is set it could work exactly as today (stopping after the current episode), but if a sleep timer is…

Restore Progress Bar Legibility
In Playlist view, the actively played episode's progress bar is difficult to read. An inactive episode's progress bar in the same view has enough contrast between bar and fill to read progress.
The redesign introduced this diminished legibility.
The fill (played time) of the bar is not quickly discernable because it is too close in thickness, brightness and color to the bar (total time) behind it. The contrast here between the bar and background is dangerously low, too.
Higher contrast will give these components (bar, fill, and background) a clearer border, making them clear to the eye.
