Restore Progress Bar Legibility
In Playlist view, the actively played episode's progress bar is difficult to read. An inactive episode's progress bar in the same view has enough contrast between bar and fill to read progress.
The redesign introduced this diminished legibility.
The fill (played time) of the bar is not quickly discernable because it is too close in thickness, brightness and color to the bar (total time) behind it. The contrast here between the bar and background is dangerously low, too.
Higher contrast will give these components (bar, fill, and background) a clearer border, making them clear to the eye.

Show Download Count
When looking at the Podcast Summary (aka home page) it would be nice if the number of episodes downloaded would show in the lower right in the same way that the number of unread shows in the upper right.

How about autolevel?
I have a few podcasts where the volume level is all over the place. The volume boost function is not enough in this case; it either blasts or clips when the volume goes up. How about an autolevel feature? I know it would take extra processing power, but today's devices can take it. Of course, an accompanying noise floor filter would be required as well (-50 to -35 dB configurable cutoff). What do you think?

Enable streaming to Roku devices.
This would allow stereo/tv speaker use without tying up phone with cable. Create Roku channel too or use existing roku app that supports media streaming? Youtube, Pandora have their own apps.

for RSS function: automatic mark read on scroll
Under rss function: mark read on scroll or (swipe), PA does a really nice job of showing RSS content, but when I am done I can only mark the entire feed as read; or each one individually, would love for each individual article to be marked read as I swipe thru them

Bigger pause button
Add an option to make the pause button bigger in the notification bar. I keep pressing the back/forward buttons by accident.

Pause and resume by tapping two or three times on the phone.
I use the application when I'm hiking. My phone is in my pocket and it is not always easy for me to use to access the controls.
As I hike with other people, I have to unplug my headphones every time someone wants to talk to me because I do not have time to take my phone, turn on the screen and press break.
I know that there are readers who are used to pause by tapping two or three times on the phone.
It would be really great to build this functionality into podcastaddict.

Slide episodes and give play/delete options (Especially in downloads and in playlist)
When in playlist or downloads you have to either hold or open episodes you want to delete. I want a "slide to left"-option that'll bring out a quick 2x2 grid or something with delete, play, read (really listened) and something more of your liking.

Use dynamic compression to support listening in loud environments
If you are listening to podcasts in a loud environment (e.g. in traffic) you often need to turn up the volume to understand the quiet parts. But then the loud parts hurt your ears. And in podcasts it is especially important to be able to hear the quiet parts clearly. So a dynamic range compression would be IMHO very helpful.
The idea is here, that loud parts of the podcast are left as they are, but quiet parts of the podcast are amplified.

Enhance "playlist duration" feature
Give the option to show "playlist duration" as estimated clock time for end of queue. Allow "playlist duration" to match speed adjustment.

Allow a set-able number of times a episode may be repeated in playlist
While using podcast to learn a language, I find myself wanting to here the same episode repeated a few times before moving to the next. I could turn the "repeat 1" option on, but then i have to manually click next when i'm ready. Doing so is rather distracting since this usually happens while driving.
So i'm thinking, you know the little repeat symbol that appears in the player screen? It currently cycles through 3 modes ("off", "repeat", "repeat 1") Can you add a couple extra options like "repeat 3" and "repeat 5"? At the moment i can see this…10 votes -

allow customisation of multiple podcast settings in parallel
Either via multiple selection of podcasts or per category label. I'd like to customise my settings for multiple podcasts.
Basically, I have a group of 6-8 podcasts that I like to download the latest episodes from daily, another group on weekends, and the rest only manually (when I'm bored or planning on long travel). Rather than having to have the automatic settings for the largest group and individually customising each of the podcasts from the first two groups individually, I'd like to add each group to a list and set the custom settings for the entire list. "Smart-sorting" option
I usually make some very long playlist's, which takes ages to sort the way i'd like, even though it isn't really that advanced, it is practically:
first
- random
then some requirements:
- never have two of the same podcast right after each other
- sort each podcast by release date; old -> new

Have a setting to enable volume boost automatically when plugged in (For when I'm in my car)
Automatically enable volume boost when plugged in. Normally, I don't need volume boost, and don't want to waste the battery, but I use volume boost in my car and it would be useful to have it automatically enabled when charging in my car.

Create a reset to default settings option without having to reinstall
I apologize if this has been stated before but I have look all throughout the app and cannot for the life of me see an option to reset everything to default. I would be very convenience to have since some like to change things around but may not remember the changes later on if there is a change in heart for the person.

Allow merging of audio and video playlists
I would like the option to see audio and video podcasts on the same playlist rather than two separate lists. Once I am using one, it tends to get more attention until I remember to switch to the other.

Automatic cleanup: "keep unread episodes" option
I don't really think why someone would risk to inadvertently delete an unread episode that might be backlogged by some reason. Just as it is a "keep favorite episodes", I want a "keep unread episodes". Moreover, I think it should be enabled by default. It is easy to mark an episode as read, or older ones in batch with the included option or manually delete it if you really don't want to listen to it .
