Cross device synchronization
Would be great to be able to synchronize subscriptions, playlist, read status, ... between devices
Just a heads up regarding the latest version of the app. It doesn’t provide cross device syncing yet, but it allows you to sign in to your Google Drive account and have all your data automatically backed up to make sure they are safe at all time. It also makes restoring the data on a new device really easy.
You can go into Settings/Backup to enable this and sign-in
Thanks

Xavier, please allow for a vendor independent solution here. Don't bind users to your, Dropbox, Google or any vendor service.
I would suggest asking the user for a WebDAV folder URL where you could then store files how you need it. WebDAV is offered by a lot of services already including owncloud and alike.
If you want to, you could also offer WebDAV space commercially for PA, so you wouldn't have to dip that for free.

Started test driving, was really impressed with features/options, purchased the paid/donate app on Google Play and started setting up priorities and adding tons of podcasts only to realize there is no sync. :(
This is crushing... I won't refund my purchase because the app seems great otherwise, but the lack of sync makes this a non-player for me - back to Pocketcasts. I'll check back again in a few months (or years based on how long this has been "coming"?)...

Has this idea dead??. At november 2015 no sync yet!! It's a fundamental feature.

At the very least could you not start with a way to sync just the subscription list between all a users devices? I don't mind right now if each device can't sync read unread etc. It's just incredibly frustrating having to find and add the same pod subscription to each of my 4 devices.

Hi, have you consider making it a paying user only feature?
It's not hard to find a decent, cheap paying server capable of handling the data sync with Webservices and a database.

@Phil
Google Plus is just used for the login mechanism.
The problem with Google native sync mechanism is that it can only be used where there isn't a lot of data to synchronize.
Some users have A LOT of subscriptions (200+). This can mean a number of episodes to synchronize of 50K, 100K or even more.
Because of that those solutions aren't adapted -

'Anymote Smart Remote' have a sync feature that uses Google Plus. Maybe it could be useful to see how they do it? I don't know what's behind it but it works really well and is very simple to use.

There's no beta for this. I had to cancel twice this feature as Google reader service closed, then Dropbox Sync API was deprecated.
For now I'm still looking for a solution... -

Hi Xavier, I hope your update for Android 6.? is running smoothly.
Please do not forget about all of us waiting impatiently for this incredible improvement (cross device sync) for your already amazing software.
I guess the user settings and also user config/info (f.e: favorites) wil be able to be synced , right?
Take care / Prends soin de toi.

Sorry but I don't have any new ETA for now.
I'm still working on Android 6.0 update. Then a couple of weeks after the Android 6.0 release I will have more time to resume my tests -

Great job on the app. Cross device sync would make my life complete. Any thoughts on requiring the user to have a Google drive folder to store the sync list? It''s free, I suspect most users all ready have it...See the open source passwd safe by Jeff Harris. I've been using if for some time for cross device sync of my password db on android and windows without any issues. Check it out in the play store. Thanks for your efforts!

Thanks for the update. And though I think it's very cool you want to keep as much in the free version as possible, I - as someone who currently only uses the free version, would happily pay to get this. It seems a perfectly reasonable extra to charge for. It's not as if the standalone app isn't already pretty fantastic. Thanks again for all your work.
