I'm surprised this feature doesn't exist yet in Podcast Addict. The podcast app I migrated from, Double Twist, to Podcast Addict had it, but lacked tons of other features. Having the trigger/filter/limit or whatever it might be called to restrict download only when charging compliment the setting to restrict downloads to WiFi and helps balance the heavyweight battery eating operations of the phone to when the battery is getting juiced.
I think most apps just restrict the option to download when the phone is plugged into a charging cable. It would be nice if Podcast Addict took that a step further and allowed some sort of blanketing rule sets that would apply, but maybe those should be requested as a separate feature request once this one lands.

Just a heads up regarding the latest version of the app. It doesn’t provide cross device syncing yet, but it allows you to sign in to your Google Drive account and have all your data automatically backed up to make sure they are safe at all time. It also makes restoring the data on a new device really easy.
You can go into Settings/Backup to enable this and sign-in

Curious why this feature is not just adding support for one of the following options:
1.) Expose the file to a public location on Android so that the user can sync the file manually using tools like Tasker to automate the process.
2.) Incorporate file sharing options like Dropbox, Box, SugarSync, etc. to be centric of the syncing. -

These votes should be migrated to https://podcastaddict.uservoice.com/forums/211997-general/suggestions/4271081-add-option-to-download-only-while-charging and this request closed. Its a duplicate and the other one linked is much older with more votes.
@Jason, that's a horrible idea if you are on a plan that makes you pay for the data you consume. Keeping WIFI on at all times is more ideal for that. Its also essential for localization techniques where GPS is not available.
