    Downsizing the resolution is one way, but the more effective way is to convert all them bloated PNGs [*] to JPEG with a high compression ratio. A thumbnail should not be more than 200KiB, and a loop that progressively reduces quality until below that threshold would be easy to implement. Or just setting it default to quality 23/100.. 😃

    [*] in my thumbnails folder, there have been thumbnails with up to 19MiB!

    It is huge, and took nearly 15 to optimize.. shoved off only 4MiB (manual sqlite3 compaction: even less)
    link to backup file coming per mail.

    Ok I understand that these two features depend on that, but I personally never use them. It could be a power user off-by-default option.

    Has been almost two years, and a lot of metadata lost.
    This is a 5 line fix, can I do something else besides ordering the donate version? Unfortunately, source code is not available for this fine product, or I would have contributed a patch long ago.
