    I'll try your solution, but I still think there should be a separate widget.

    When driving, being able to control Podcast Addict from the homescreen is safer and faster than "navigating" its interface. And the car layout has fewer and bigger buttons that make it easier for shakier hands even on the bumpiest roads...

    The Car Layout is excellent. However, it's only useful when the app is open. When driving, I often also use a navigation app (e.g., Waze or Google Maps), which is always in the foreground. The problem is that sometimes Android kills Podcast Addict because it's in the background, so even the notification can't be used.

    Having a widget that uses the Car Layout would make it much faster and safer to pause and resume playback, even when the app itself has been killed.
