    Did some more research and yea it's the WebViews. I'll be relying on my gf's phone to use Overcast, or using wired audio in 2018, until Chrome or Podcast Addict fixes the WebViews integration to not produce loud terrifying bursts of static...

    According to research (google "android bluetooth static screeching noise") it seems to be a problem with Chrome. Podcast Addict shouldn't rely on a Chrome app instance/communicating with Chrome, which I believe it does-- or it should integrate correctly.
