    @crazydog: What I did was create a link to the news podcast on the home screen. I can now directly jump to the podcast and press play there. Two taps instead of one, but it works for me. My problem is, though, that after the news podcast, the first episode in the playlist will start playing, it doesn't continue with the one I was listening to before. Thus, I'm collecting more and more episodes I have started but not finished yet.

    I'd need sorting by "currently playing" in the playlist so that I could put those to the top.

    I regularly play a short five minutes episode of a news podcast before I continue listening to my other podcasts. This sort option would allow me to continue where I was instead of always jumping to whatever has been sorted above my currently playing episode since I started listening to it.
