Add episode flag 'ignored'
I suggest you add an episode flag 'ignored', which you can use to mark episodes you aren't interested in. These don't show up in the unheard episodes count, but you distinguish them from the ones you have heard. This is especially useful for factual podcasts with one theme per episode or interview podcasts, where you are only interested in certain episodes.

For every podcast I listen to I have a use case for this. One podcast has occasional substitute hosts which I never listen to, one podcast does terrible live shows, one podcast does reruns for some reason, one podcast does animated versions of the audio podcast that I never watch, and plenty of podcasts do clip shows, repeats, or minor updates.
At the moment, I leave these episodes unplayed so that when I'm going back through I know that I skipped it the last time, but this means the 'Unplayed Counter' and 'played' features go unused for me. If I could hide ignored episodes completely or mark them as ignored AND played, that would be fantastic.

So often, I want Podcast Addict to "treat this episode as if it's been played", while trying to remember myself that I haven't actually listened to it, in case I decide to go back to it later.
"Ignored", as a "Treat as Played (but I know it's not)" flag, would be amazing.

And it would be great if could be "set to ignored from this episode" - in the episode list, like the readed episodes flag works.

I agree, at this moment we have played / unplayed labels, but we need also and ignored status that we can use to mark episodes we're not interested

This is definitely needed. I don't want to mark a huge batch of episodes as "played" when I haven't actually listened to them, but may want to in the future. I like seeing episodes from oldest to newest and when I start a new Podcast focused on current events, I don't want to have to scroll through years worth of content that I might be interested later, but not now.

Bump, this kind of feature would be an amazing addition to an already amazing app!

I would like this too.
There are podcast that I’m going through from the beginning and the new episodes when they come out. I’d like to hide these podcasts when I hit the eye icon.
I don’t mind another way to achieve this, but I do think this way would be the most versatile for people.
Great app.

I agree! I came here to request this exact feature! Another possible tag could be "skipped."

I came here to suggest this too, a podcast I love occasionally does serial killer episodes which I never want to hear.

Dang, I came here looking for exactly this functionality, hoping it already existed. I end up leaving many of my podscasts' archives marked "unplayed", since I'll likely get to them at some point. Unfortunately this basically nullifies the usefulness of the Unplayed Counter. What I came here to suggest was adding some kind of time constraint to the counter (like, have it only count episodes from the previous X months). But an "ignored" flag seems like a better solution.
(This program is amazing! Such control!)

Yeah, I'd use this a lot. When I start listening to a podcast, I'll go back and listen to SOME of its history, but not binge the entire archive yet. Once I'm "caught up", it'd be nice to know which episodes I actually listened to, and which ones I just bypassed.

yes, distinguishing between episodes i want to skip and ones i have listened is a good idea
