  1. Allow offline playback on WearOS watches/devices

Please make a WearOS app that allows me to pick which podcast episodes I want to download directly to the watch, so I can listen to the episodes without my phone connected (no internet connection).

  2. Shuffle for specific Podcast

The shuffle mode in the player plays random episodes from the playlist.

Unfortunately, this feature does not cover my use case:
I would like to listen to random episodes of a certain podcast (to fall asleep) without having to empty the playlist first and then manually select episodes and then put them on the playlist.

  3. Make "Manual" playlist sort a checkbox instead of a dropdown option

    Currently:

In the playlist's "Order by ..." dialog, there's a checkbox for "Alternate podcasts" and then one or more dropdown menus to sort by various methods.

The Part That Feels Like Awkward UI:

All of the "Sort by" dropdown options are automatic sort methods, except one, the "Manual (Drag&Drop)" menu option. If you think about it, Manual (Drag&Drop) is really an alternative to automatic sorting. It's turning automatic sorting on or off. In fact if you select it, it does disable the subsequent dropdown menus. So it could make more UI sense to make it a checkbox at the top…

  4. Add 'add to play list" as an option to quick actions in display settings

The current options are 'download' and 'play' though my most common action is to 'add to playlist'. It would be especially helpful if the playlist is empty at the time it would function as a 'play'button.

  5. Push Notification for Live Streams

Add support for push notifications for live podcast stream using the Podcasting 2.0 tag <podcast:liveItem>. If the user turned on this toggle for a specific podcast, they'd receive a notification whenever the podcast stream went live and given the option to stream the show.

  6. Automatic Bookmarks / Listen History

I've been using PA to listen to Audiobooks as Virtual Podcasts and it would be great if an option was available to automatically create a bookmark whenever the playback is resumed from a paused state.

This would also be useful for regular podcasts.

The reason being I often get distracted or fall asleep whilst listening and this provides and easy way to go back to the last staring point.

Could also be some kind of history thing perhaps with the last x number of start positions and what time is and date it was. Very similar to how the bookmarks…

  7. Separate sorts per category/show.

Recent episodes I always want sorted new to old, but old podcasts that I want to listen through always need to be sorted the reverse to get them to play through. Can we get sort to only affect the category it's selected in?

  9. Android Automotive Sync

Looking to buy a new car with Android Automotive. Obviously this doesn't use android auto so doesn't pull podcasts from the phone.
Ideally need a sync function to make sure podcasts, playlists and progress is the same across multiple devices.

  11. Sort By Recently Played Option In Each Sort Menu

This is useful independent of the Playback history and Playback in progress. Those can't currently be filtered very well - that's another potential improvement that could fill the same purpose. (also, All and Downloaded episodes could use the same filters - the ones in the podcast episode lists.)

    Use cases:
-Took a break from a show, not sure how long ago, and want to pick it up again.
-can't remember the specific guest or a revelant search term, and it was an older episode that was listened recently.
-I'm already in the podcast's episode list and have it filtered, and…

  12. Allow selection of which Player view is used as the Opening Screen

I have a premium subscription and I've set my Opening Screen to Player. However, the Player screen has 3 views:
    1. The playlist
    2. The current episode image and title
    3. The episode details

Setting the Opening Screen to Player opens the app on view #2, but I'd like to open it on view #1.

  14. download sorting "catch up"

Up to now I can select that the next episode to download can be either the newest one or oldest one.

I suggest to introduce a "catch up" mode.

Therefore I would introduce an Abo date. this is the date when I started the Abo.

I would suggest such a function.

    next epidode to download (abodate)

if there is at least one episode newer than Abodate
    then take the newest episode
    else
    take the oldest episode
    end

With such a function I would chronologically catch up with the older episodes but also hear new episodes close to the release date.

  15. Rewrite clickable timestamps to reflect playback speed

When displaying the episode time modified by playback speed, it would often be useful to see the timestamps in the episode description adjust similarly. That would make it easier to refer to where you are in am episode, when looking at outline or transcript with timestamps.

  16. Allow temporary pausing of all automatic downloads

When I visit family with limited Wi-Fi, I don't want to use it all up by auto-downloading podcasts (yes, it is possible!). I only have a few podcasts set up to auto-download, not all, but they update daily, sometimes multiple times a day. I can't see a way to pause their daily updates until I'm back on regular Wi-Fi because my main auto-download setting is on "off" (these podcasts have an override to let them download normally). So some way to make ALL downloads manually triggered and, I don't know, override the override(?), would be useful.

  17. Provide support for boosts over the lightning network to support content creators

Many podcasters struggle to monetize their content and offering boosts over the lightning network directly from the app seems to be the best solution. It also avoids the main podcast gatekeepers from taking a cut. Fountain Podcast app implements this

  18. export, import, edit the listening history. CSV file maybe

If we could export the listening history to a csv file, edit it (on a PC I guess) and import it again, that would be fantastic ! To keep it simple, export all the available information (per episode : time downloaded, time played, speed, comments, bookmarks, etc and let the user deal with it)

    For what case?
What I have in mind is merging the listening histories of podcast addict of my old and my new phone. Because when I broke my old phone, i didn't realize my last PA backup was 3 months old and I listened to a…

  19. Add a toggle for download on wifi only to the download menu

Having a second copy of the download over wifi/data toggle in the "downloads" menu would make it much easier to find (since it's an infrequently used setting, most people won't know where it is, and when looking it makes sense to look in "downloads" for the option.

  20. to implement an anti-theft security function...

... to be used for example for the gym as follows:

    • The function can easily be activated manually on the same screen like the Sleep-Timer or automatically depending on a specific location or a specific WiFi.
    • If the function is enabled, the playback of a podcast or any other audio or video is stopped as soon as the device is moved (e.g. by a theft in the gym).

I think, implementing this is easy (may be I can help?), The already existing function "Shake to reset (Sleep-Timer)" can be somehow used for the anti-theft security function.

    PLEASE VOTE for it!…
