improve category UX for podcast archiving workflow
Archiving a podcast has been proposed before. I'd like to re-make the case for a good "archive" workflow, but I don't think we need a separate "archive" feature--just some improvements to managing categories.
I already approximate "archiving" a podcast with categories (let's call these "status categories"). I use 3 status categories: trial, current, and archive.
This works, but it's tedious to set up and maintain (manually turn off updates, either have to use the per-podcast category editor, or manage each category individually and successfully remember/pick podcasts). From a workflow perspective, the most important part is being able to easily see/compare, with dozens of podcasts, which podcasts are in which status category.
One way to accomplish this is a bulk-category editor that lets us pre-select a few categories, and then see a podcast list with checkboxes for those categories. I don't think the layout needs to be tabular; categories can just be in a list under each podcast.
A more involved version might be concrete support for mutually-exclusive "status categories." A mutually exclusive form of category might better support things like automatically disabling updates similar to the proposal in https://podcastaddict.uservoice.com/forums/211997-general/suggestions/16603540-automatically-apply-custom-settings-at-category-le since it wouldn't have to deal with conflicting category settings.
