Display "lyrics" or transcript
For people who listen to audiobooks, it would be fantastic to show either the embedded mp3 "lyrics" or from the associated text file. They usually contain the audio transcription of the podcast, which is very useful.
Also, some podcasts like http://drruscio.com/allison-siebecker-interview-sibo-episode-30/ or http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/allinthemind/the-mysterious-corpus-callosum/7377346, they have the transcript in their episode page. If PA can either fetch it or let us add the lyrics manually to be played automatically, it would make life much nicer :-)
Podcast Addict now supports the new RSS transcript tags. Very few podcasts support this for now, but as soon as they provide the transcript in their feed you will have it in the app. If they provide a synchronized transcript it will be displayed as caption on the player screen

Is it possible also to implement this transcription? https://ukw.fm/ukw072-corona-weekly-geisterfahrerfreie-zone/

PA is my my primary tool to learn Chinese with locally saved ChinesePod, other casts and audio folders.
There is an accompanying PDF file, usually by the same name. There are also embedded lyrics. I am looking for a solution that ideally can, both, display embedded lyrics, and display OR open the PDF, whether in text or PDF format, from within the app.
The app Rocket Player plays embedded lyrics. QQmusic does too I believe

If the transcription is a long text and you start playing again from the middle of the audio (for instance), then ideally PA would show you the text from the middle on. But you should be able to scroll up and down in your text.

Now it makes more sense on what happens and why it would be complicated for PA to extract it automatically from every kind of page layout.
At least if we can add the text manually at the place or as a separate category than the description or attach a text file. This shouldn’t be complicated. Nowadays, I have to open an extra text editor to follow the transcript, but then PA is in the background and we lose the play control buttons. -
@cyprien
The app is only able to extract comments because there's a way to embed and extra RSS feed dedicated to comments into the main podcast feed.
Until there's a standard way to add lyrics into the main feed this won't be possible -

I know, Xavier, that some podcasts have their transcript in the description, which is fantastic. But most don’t…
If you look at all the examples I gave, you’ll see that the transcript isn’t in the description, but on the episode page.
The same way the comments are not in the episode description, but on the page and PA is able to retrieve them, the same way PA would fetch for the transcript text. -
@Cyprien
The app already shows the full episode description.
Unless the transcript isn't provided in the description the app won't be able to show it.
Android default metadata framework doesn't know how to extract the lyrics mp3 tag so this won't work. -

In my opinion, downloading the podcast comments (what PA already does) is less useful than having the transcript. Maybe you can use the same feature to do both (fetch the comments and the transcript).

Another example: http://well.org/medicine/functional/eat-fat-get-thin-awesome-interview-dr-mark-hyman
or even synchronised lyrics (.lrc file) at http://www.51voa.com/VOA_Special_English/A-Mobile-App-in-Delhi-Aims-to-Protect-Women--44408.htmlFYI, apps like Ginkgo Audiobook Player or Neutron Music Player already implemented this lyrics show feature.
