Thanks for the changes you did in the meantime, Thorsten and Xavier. I think, this topic can be closed. :-)

Hi Dirk, I know the issue with the truncated menu items on phone screens. This depends on the screen resolution, size and of course the font size in Your Android system settings.
Sometimes it was really hard for me to find a short German translation which is exactly equivalent to the English one.Could You send me the truncated menu entries or screenshots of it via Email?
I only have a 7 inch tablet and a 4.5 inch phone. On my phone some entries are truncated like "Feed URL in Zwischenablage kopie.." but the meaning is clear I think.
On your phone its truncated more and you can see it only until the "k..".
But if we switch to Your suggestion it also will be truncated to: "Kopiere Podcast-URL in Zwisc..". Hard to decide what is better.I suggest that we schould go through the list of Your truncations and I'm sure that we will find a proper solution.
Generally in my translation I used a common German documentation style that differs from the English style. The english one is more personally e.g. "You have to select the item to delete it." In German it is often more impersonally e.g. "Zum Löschen des Elements muss es ausgwählt werden." which means in English "To delete the item it must be selected".
Many of Your suggestions use the personal style for German and mixing personal from me with impersonal from You is confusing the user. We should make a decision, which style we want to use.

Suggestion for discussion
I have the problem that some of the translated commands especially in the long-press-menus are too long. Example: long-pressing an episode in the playlist shows "Löschen der Episode und von..." which means "Delete the episode and ... of ..."
And what? New users that haven't used the english version before don't know what will happen here.
Suggestion: using the imperative would make most of the long-press-menus more understandable. And even if the screen is too narrow one would always see the action first instead of the object.
The following dotted ("..") translations appear in this way on my Galaxy S2, not knowing how they look on a bigger or smaller screen. The translation on the right side -> are my proposals.
Podcast screen long-press menu, examples:
"Episoden aktualisieren" -> "Aktualisiere Episoden"
"Ungelesene Episoden herunterl.." -> "Lade ungelesene herunter"
"Episode löschen" -> "Lösche Episoden"
"Als gelesen markieren" -> "Markiere Episoden als gelesen"
"Abonnement kündigen" -> "Kündige Podcast-Abo"
"Feed URL in Zwischenablage k.." -> "Kopiere Podcast-URL in.. Zwischenablage"
"Podcast-Beschreibung" -> "Zeige Podcast-Beschreibung"
"Webseite besuchen" -> "Zeige Podcast-Homepage"
"Podcast teilen" -> "Teile Podcast"Playlist screen long-press menu:
"Von Playlist entfernen" -> "Entferne von Playlist"
"Löschen der Episode und von.." -> "Löschen und Entfernen..."
"Ganz nach oben" -> "Verschiebe an Anfang der Playlist"
"Ganz nach unten" -> "Verschiebe ans Ende der Playlist"I think you know what I mean. To be consequent Xavier or Thorsten would have to adjust some of the long-press menu translations and "normal" menu translations, too. If help is needed: at your service. ;-)

Sorry I didn't get your mail. I just found it in the spam folder. I will take a look at the files and try to add the translation in the next version. Thanks a lot for your work and sorry for the delay !

Hi Xavier,
I did the rest of the german translation and sent it july 11th to Stefan and july 20th to You. Did You received my email with the files because I did not get any response from both of You.
@Dirk
I tried to do a good translation, not a bad one. ;-) -

Just kidding. PodcastAddict is such a fine software even a bad translation wouldn't hurt. But in fact I guess the translation will be fine like the app itself has always been.
-
Sorry but the translation is in progress...

Then please ignore this suggestion and don't translate it. Every German older than 12 years is capable of understanding enough English to use PodcastAddict. And blame me for not translating the app. ;-)
-
That's not possible. Once an app is translated the it will use the translation based on your device language. If you devuce is in English then the app will remain in English, if the device is in German than the app will be in German as well.

If there will be a German translation please make sure the German users are still able to use / switch to the English version. I hate bad translations ;)

No repository but I can send you the resources by mail (podcastaddict@gmail.com).
~30% has already be translated -

So - is there a repository with texts to be translated? Can't code, but my German is pretty good. 8-)
-
That's not the way localization works on android. The language will be the one you selected on your device once the translation is added.

If you do that - make sure that it is still possible to use the english version with german devices!
