I'd like to see the same thing. Perhaps an opt-in option so that if you change the playback speed through the player that speed is used for all subsequent episodes until manually changed.
Others have made requests suggesting different means for accomplishing similar functionality but we're all grasping for the right words to describe what it is we're looking for.
