Auto download on Wifi Only
Hello, I have been waiting for this feature for a while but it has not been added. I would like to set up Podcast Addict so that when new episodes are set to be auto downloaded only on wifi. This would save e mobile data.
Currently I can set up "auto download on/off" and "download on wifi only". I have many podcasts and I let P.A. auto download certain podcasts. If I check download on wifi only to save data, then I cannot even manually download episodes (although I can stream). So I uncheck this option. However if I uncheck that, all episodes are downloaded even on mobile network after (auto) refresh.
Because I don't need to listen to all episodes right after it is updated, it would be nicer if they are auto downloaded when my phone is connected to wifi. Also then I don't need to uncheck download on wifi only. Could you add this in the future updates? Thank you.
You can enable Download on WiFi only, then open the download manager screen and ‘force start’ some episodes that you want to download over data
As soon as you connect to a Wifi connection the app will resume download if episodes already in your download queue.
Regarding the other feature, unfortunately the app will only mark the episode as read once it has been fully listened to. If repeat mode is enabled then you will have to manage this manually.
Xavier, thank you for the reply. I didn't know I could do that. It works.
Now I wonder if it is possible to add "force download" when I long press an episode from the list?
I have a related question. Suppose I set auto download on and download only on wifi. If I am on mobile when the app refreshes, then does the app download the episodes later when my phone gets connected to wifi?
Also I would like to request a feature that an episode is marked as read once it is played, or it is played for at least x minutes. I set up "repeat episode", then it never marks an episode as read. I always have to manually mark an episode as read. I already voted for this idea but it hasn't been add yet.
Thank you for developing this nice app!
