Fix space usage issue
My podcasts are stored on sd card but in Android settings, it says the app uses 9GB space on the internal memory. I tried linking everything with Link2sd but to no avail. I'm trying to install an app through an .apk file and it won't let me, saying I'm out of space. I have 3GB free space on Internal memory and 8GB on sd card... I'm on 5.1.1.
Android shows the data usage used by an app in its own folders.
This means on the internal memory AND the SD card.
Changing the storage location to SD card will remove those files from the internal memory and move them to the SD card. It will free that space on the internal memory, but won’t change anything in the Android Storage screen.
If you have 3GB of free space on the internal memory and if Android refuses to install an app it looks like there’s a Play Store app or ROM bug. Please try rebooting the device or clanring the Play Store app cache to fix this.

2020. Still not possible to change the storage to SD card on an android phone. This is simply not an option in the app as installed in 2020.

Which issue?
As explained before the app doesn't use any internal memory as soon as you select SD card. The ''issue" is just that Android shows the app own storage usage which is its storage in both the internal memory and SD card. Therefore switching the storage location will free the internal storage BUT won't change the storage used by the app -

Any fix yet? I have the same issue. We know it doesn't make sense, that's why we're asking you.

@Jim
The app doesn't use any internal memory space once you select SD card. You can check this by using any file explorer app. However Android will still show the same storage space used by the app internal folders as this tale into account both the internal memory and SD card app folders -

I have this same problem on my moto g3. Always having storage being full because of podcast addict despite everything on the sd card.

@jared
This doesn't make any sense. Once you switch to the SD card for the storage Podcast Addict doesn't use any space on the internal memory.
If you have 1GB of free space and your device refuses to install another app then it's a ROM bug. Feel free to send me an email if you have any question (Settings/Feedback)
