I think it should be possible to login so that if we lose our phone the next time we get the app we don't have to sit and remember which podcasts we have subscribed to and figure out which ones we've already listened to

The app now allows you to sign in using your Google Drive account. Then all your data is automatically saved to the cloud once a day. If you lose or c change devices, you just have to sign-in again to restore all your data. However there’s no cross device syncing for now

If you want to backup your subscriptions as an opml file you can do it from Settings/Backup & Restore then select the Backup entry. The backup file is stored in a subfolder called backup within your storage location. You can press the share button to send this file to your Drive, Dropbox, email account.

There are some request to have a sync between devices or with Gpodder/Feedly.
I think this request should be closed because it is unclear or duplicate.
