Decrease internal storage!
Decrease amount of storage needed for internal memory. Allow user to offload some of this access (without deleting their list of favourite podcasts).
Perhaps the option of moving this app to SD card would resolve this issue.
There’s no way to decrease the internal memory used by the app. The app cannot be moved to the SD card because of Android restrictions (services will not work, widgets will not work, …).
FYI moving the app to the SD card would only save like 2MB…

Xavier's comment from 12/2006 to press he toolbar 'eye' button to show every episode and then delete them solved the problem for me. Thank you!

Once you select SD card for the storage the app does NOT use any internal memory
Those 6GB are on the SD card. You can easily check this by using any kin=d of file explorer app. Android reports as internal storage for an app any data stored within the app system folder: which means data stored on both the app internal memory AND sd card folder.
That doesn't mean that the data is stored on the device internal memory -

Yeah, I second this. I'm using a SD that has 15 gb free but the app is taking up 6 gb of internal memory. I've moved the storage folder to the SD. I get that the app needs internal storage to function properly, but is there some way to decrease it's size? What's being stored internally? What can I do to limit the amount of space it is taking up? Is it all of the meta data of podcasts listened to and the external files are just the audio files? If so, I've listened to about a 1000 episodes. I just worry that I will have to reset all of "played" podcasts.

There seems to be an issue with the android system that causes a problem with podcast addict as well as spotify and probably other apps. Audio stored in the sd card is either being duplicated in the internal memory or the android system has a glitch registering it as data when it isn't actually there. Iphone has a similar glitch with "other" data building up that isn't actually there. This glitch was a huge factor in why I switched to samsung in the first place so hopefully there is a fix somewhere...

@TG
Unless your downloaded episodes have huge files you have many downloaded episodes ;)
My guess is that you're hiding files marked as read when looking at the 'Downloaded episodes' screen. If so press once more on the toolbar 'eye' button to show every episode and then delete them.
Please send me an email in case you have a question instead of posting it in a 'feature request' (Settings/feedback)

Why does Podcast Addict take up so much space on my phone? It has nearly 5 GB and I only have a handful of downloaded episodes...
