Replay of played episodes
Settings for an episode was set on "stop at end of played episode" (without removing or deleting it) when I applied the set timer. I awoke this morning and did not find this episode listed among rhe "downloaded" or "recent" episodes. I was able to find it, but it was marked as played yet had an active ready to play arrow. When I tapped on the arrow, the epusode began to play but did not offer an episode box where I could control playback. I had never seen this isdue before. I had set the timer to stop one minute before completion of the episode so I could listen to it again. I downloaded all episodes again for this podcast and the episode reappeared in its unplayed state.
Once an episode is played and/or the sleep rimer setting has bern applied, it is desirable to still have access to replaying the episode. Even being able to mark one epusode as unplyed without having to delete every played episode and then having to download all episodes for the one episide to be replayable.Display of sleep timer progress would be helpful, too.
You can use the Sleep timer setting to keep the episode if this is what you need. Otherwise the episode will be processed as played according to your settings in which case you can still re-listen to it, as usual but the episode will be maarked as played and its downloaded file might have been deleted

Update on replay subject ...
After playback, an episode appeared in the "downloaded episodes" page, allowing me to either listen to it again or manually delete it - only after I had deselected in the automatic cleanup settings "mark played." ("Mark played on deletion" was kept as selected. "Delete" in the "after playback" section was kept as deselected. "Delete downloaded episodes when you mark them as played manually" in the automatic cleanup section was kept as deselected. In "Player/Sleep Timer" setting, "Keep Episode" was kept as selected.)
I mention all of these settings, because after playback, both after completion using the sleep timer and without it, an episode was disappearing. I wanted to have the option of keeping it listed so I could either access it again or manually delete it. At this point, it seems that deselecting in the automatic cleanup setting a downloaded episode marked as played, corrected the problem.
It would seem that unless that setting is deselected, after playback, an episode is classified as played and it automatically disappears.

I believe I had selected in the set timer settings to keep the episode. As a safeguard I now set the sleep timer 1 minute before the end so I can msnually delete the episode or replay it if I fall asleep during playback. Thanks for adjusting the indicated playback time left in response to playback speed change. As has been suggested by others, having a display of the set sleep timer number on the same screen as playback would be helpful. If I replay a section, I have to open up the sleep timer display and reset the number by canceling the timer request and then resetting a new number. Prompting for a "reset?" eould avoid the extra step. I may not have explained this clearly, but there are playback situations requiring disabling the sleep timer previously set inorder to adjust the time.
