enable lock screen widget for Android Lollypop.
The lock screen widget is already implemented, but it will only show depending on the unlock mode selected on the device (pin, schema, face recognition, …)

I had this same problem but as Xavier said it has to do with Lollipops new way of handling lock screen widgets or lack of them. If you've enabled all the controls for the lock screen widget under PA lock screen widget settings and enabled "player expandable notification" under the PA Notifications settings then you should have all the controls on the lock screen notification but ONLY when you swipe down on the lock screen notification.
Seems stupid given the way android used to handle this but at least it works and allows you to access the controls without unlocking the phone.

If you have enabled the expanded notification you now need to expand the notification so you can see the extra commands. To do so, drag the notification towards the bottom of the screen

I have enabled expanded notification in the Podcast Addicts settings, and I have my Lollipop settings are to show all content, and I still don't see the Podcast Addicts controls. Yes, there is a notification for PA, and it has a pause, and a stop, but there is no next or prev, so I can't skip forward or back, as I used to in Android 4.4.4. That's what I really want, the next/prev controls back.

As explained in my previous answer. There's not more lock screen widget on Lollipop.
Now apps just display their default notification. So you will have access to the player notification. If you enabled the expanded notification in Settings/Notifications you will have access to every controls.
The pause button is always displayed, so you should be able to press on it.
Make sure to increase the notification priority if you want it to appear on top of the others -

I recently upgraded to Lollipop on a Sprint Galaxy S5, and the lock screen is missing the forward/reverse buttons, that I had with Kit Kat 4.4.4. I do have that enabled in the PA settings. And I do have all notifications enabled on the lock screen. I really miss the pause button on the lock screen, otherwise I have to unlock the phone and bring up PA in order to even temporarily pause playback. Is there anything I have overlooked, to get back the pause on the lock screen?

This is because you didn't enabled the Player expanded widget (Settings/Notifications)
Since Lollipop, Android displays the notification in the lock screen widget, so you if you enabled the expanded notification, you will retrieve it in the locak screen widget as well.
BTW if you enabled 'Don't show sensitive data on the lock screen widget', Podcast Addict notification will be useless. I have a fix for that. I will publish it next week, but I can send you an early release -

It does show up but we are missing the previous and next track buttons, generally visible on sweeping down a little bit on the widget. See: Google play music widget
