podcast addict always running in background... even after I stop it, it will run again .... android lollipop...draining battery
No it doesn’t drain the battery. The mandatory background service doesn’t use any CPU/battery. Android can kill it any time it needs to free some resource for an app running in the foreground, then the service will restart automatically. It handles all the app automatic behavior, remote control…

I'm getting the same issue. I haven't used Podcast Addict today (and it's closed), yet it has drained 40% of my battery!

I am having the same problem. Podcast Addict turned completely off, but my battery says that it's continuing to drain my battery. I suspect it may be the app's adware.

I always get a notification from the android system that this app is draining my battery in the background and I have to kill it. Like four times a day. It's getting uninstalled.

It's an excellent app. As a global principle I don't like apps to run in background when not used, even though not using any CPU. The more apps that run in background, the more difficult it is to keep an overview which one is really necessary and helpful and which one might even be malware or just bloat. What ist the advantage of podcast addict service always running in background. Why does the otherwise outstanding app need that, could it not work without that?

I would rather it not run in the background if I'm not utilizing the app.
