Explicitly notify user if connected to wrong Wi-Fi
If cell is not available (no tower or Wi-Fi only configured) and Wi-Fi is connected, but not to a network listed in the Wi-Fi filter, and one or more of the networks listed in the Wi-Fi filter is "in range" but not currently connected, throw up a notification suggesting the user change the Wi-Fi connection and then try PA again.
The app will display an ‘Unauthorized WiFi network’ message if you try to update/stream/Download on a WiFi network which is not authorized in Settings/Network

It's very hard to find the app settings for the authorized network because the icon is disguised to look like an equalizer rather than the standard Andriod cogged-wheel setting icon. Once you find that (at the bottom of the screen), then select Network, and under the Advanced section, find Wi-Fi filter. If it is checked, you will need to either uncheck that option or scroll down and select the networks you wish to authorize.

There's a Network section in the app settings.
You will find the button to open the app settings at the bottom of the navigation sidebar. Please contact me in case you have a question (Settings/Feedback)

Me too, Ken. Annoyingly, it allows me to play other podcasts, just not the one I particularly want to listen to. All the others in that series are available. I had to delete the non-playable one, it was irritating me so much.

@Ken Ladell
This means that you didn't authorized this WiFi hotspot in the app Settings/Network.
Either disable the WiFi filtering if you don't need this setting or make sure to white list your WiFi hotspots.

I'm getting 'Unauthorized WIFI network', and it's displaying my network which I'm using for everything else.

Might be better/easier to do this in Tasker or tell android to forget about the networks you don't want to use.
