Sd card support in Lollipop
A new permission introduced in Android 5.0 for sd card write support should be used.
There’s no need for additional permissions to use the SD card.
The SD card can be used to store the downloaded episodes with every version of Android.

@Gustav Berg
You don't have to select a storage folder on the SD card. You just have to select the SD card radio button.
Unless the app folder on the SD card hasn't been created by your current Android install there shouldn't be any issue.

Okey ill try and clarify. A had folders left on my sd card from a previous installation. So when a tried to move my dowloadfolder to the sd card. I was prevented from doing so. But when i manually deleted the folders there were no problems. No problems now :)
Thanks for a great app!

Android/data/com.bambuna.podcastaddic on the sdcard needs to be deleted before changing download folder.

this is the weirdest thing/ solution that I realized...
in lollipop the folder Android/data/com.bambuna.podcastaddict
IS NOT IN THE SD CARD folder ..... IT IS ON THE INTERNAL STORAGE FOLDER!however...
check back your folders....it is actually on your SD Card folder all along!
its just mixed up and I dont know why. The settings app indicates the storage at the internal storage...yet it actually saves it on your SD card Android/data/com.bambuna.podcastaddict folder....weird. -

That's not true in my experience. I can only see folders on my phone storage and attempts to pull up the SD card only show /sdcard, which is actually on the phone storage side. So yes, currently there appears to be no SD card storage on lollipop.

Hello,
the app cannot retrieve info from my SD card, although I have created manuall ythe folder <SDCard_path>/Android/data/com.bambuna.podcastaddict (was not created automatically).
The message indicated is "Failed to retrieve available space... SD card unmounted ?" Obviously my SD card is not unmounted, since I use it with other app.
I have a Bq Aquaris M4.5, running Android Lollipo 5.1.
Thks for your help,
Antoine. -
@John Duh
This allows you to select any folder on your SD card but you won't be able to transfer any data between the internal memory and the SD card that way.
What you can do is 1st use the SD card button to move your data to the SD card, then use the internal memory browse button to select the folder of your choice on the SD card -

Your suggested workaround (Select internal storage and navigate to SDcard) doesn't work for me.
When I hammer OK I can see a messagebox for a millisecond about copying files, but it disappears directly.
FYI, i'm on android 5.0.2 -
You can still select the folder of your choice by going into Settings/Download/Storage folder and selecting Internal memory, then go back at the root of the device and select a folder within your sd card

Being able to use our devices, including the SD card, they way we want is important to many in the Android community. That's why a lot of us use Android instead of iOS.
Google saw fit to restore our ability to use our SD Cards as we see fit, and many apps have taken advantage of it. I hope Podcast Addict will, too. -
There's no support for Lollipop new features for now.
This will come with the material design update, but it won't happen any time soon.
Other features will be implemented before that -

Sorry I was not clear enough, what I meant is that It is impossible to use the SD card to store data on any chosen folder on Android Kitkat.
Since Lollipop you can use the ACTION_OPEN_DOCUMENT_TREE intent to request permissions to a directory ( source https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=67570#c4444 )
It's probably not that important.
