I am looking for an "exit" button.
Can I exit the app? I don't see a function to stop or exit the app.
Hi,
It’s against Android best practice to add an exit button. Why would you want to exit the app? Apps are kept in the background until Android kills them to free resources. There’s no need to exit app.

Sorry Xavier I better get an exit button. For I want to be able to free the ressources when I want, and for I want to be able to get ride of notifications when I want.

I listen in the morning on my commute to work and then in the afternoon on my commute home. In the 8-10 hours I'm working, I get an Android alert telling me that Podcast Addict is using battery. The player controls also stay on my notifications panel. Every other app including samsung music and Google Podcasts (closest approximations) close completely when I click on the X in the top right hand corner from the recently used / open apps menu. (I've always considered that the "exit button.") But it doesn't work for podcast addict.

@Bob
I'm sorry but Android apps don't have exit buttons. This isn't how the platform works.
If you want to stop kill an app you can either swipe it away or kill it from the device Settings/Apps screen. -

I don't care what someone else thinks are " best practices". I want to control my own devices

Hi Xavier & Derek,
I do adhere to idea of freedom of choice for the User. I think it it my right and responbility to Start and stop any program on my device. You, Xavier as the programmer should explain the implications e.g. interrupting background downloads BUT Not implicitely deny my right to terminate an app.
Thx and greetings,

I would still like to be able to close it completely from within the app to save resources. It is also annoying seeing the notification for pa even though I have closed it
