Have an option to add a podcast (not just an episode) to the playlist, and have PA automatically play the next episode of that podcast
I have just got into podcasts and am working my way through lots of backlogs at once. I prefer to swap from one podcast to the next. Currently I have to go through a tedious process of manually downloading a few episodes from each podcast, and then go through the playlist and shuffle all the episodes around so they wok in a cycle.
What I'd like is if instead of the playlist having to be "Podcast A ep 1, Podcast B ep 1, Podcast C ep 1, Podcast A ep 2, Podcast B ep 2, etc", if I could just make it "Podcast A, Podcast B, Podcast C" and when it reached that entry it would play the next episode of that podcast. Then I could just have a short playlist and it would just cycle through over and over until each podcast was finished, and every time I added a new podcast, I wouldn't have to add all its episodes manually to the rotation, I'd just have to add the podcast itself just once.
Hi,
The app relies on the playlist for the playback. You need to add the episodes to the playlist if you want the app to play them without interruption. You can enable the automatic playlist feature if you want the app to add new episodes automatically.
You can then order the playlist by podcast in order to play episodes by podcast

So the problem is I don't want to listen to the *new* episodes because I'm still working my way through the *old* episodes. At the moment that means I have to do a LOT of tedious shuffling around of the playlist every time I add a new podcast to the rotation, because I have to spread its episodes through the cycle manually.
What I want, is the ability to put a kind of "placeholder" item in the playlist, which stands for "whatever is the next unfinished epsisode of 'Podcast X'". Then, when PA gets to that item in the playlist, it goes to Podcast X and plays the next episode (NOT the NEWEST episode, but rather the next episode that I am up to in that particular podcast).
Ideally, that placeholder item would also have an option that once it had finished playing the episode, it could then put the placeholder back at the end of the playlist again. This would let me just cycle through all of the podcasts I am working through, and not have to worry about how far into each podcast I am.
At the moment Podcast Addict seems to be great if you are up-to-date on your podcasts, but very awkward to use for trying to work through the archives of an old podcast. I think this feature would go a long way to making it much better for users like me who don't want to listen to episode 57 of a podcast until we've finished episodes 1-56.
