Cross device synchronization
Would be great to be able to synchronize subscriptions, playlist, read status, ... between devices

Just a heads up regarding the latest version of the app. It doesn’t provide cross device syncing yet, but it allows you to sign in to your Google Drive account and have all your data automatically backed up to make sure they are safe at all time. It also makes restoring the data on a new device really easy.
You can go into Settings/Backup to enable this and sign-in
Thanks

Just a heads up that this has now become a blocker for me as I have multiple phones, I've been a PA user for 9 years and premium for much of that, but I'm switching to AntennaPod. I'd love to switch back though!

Hello,
can we get some time estimate when/if this is getting implemented? I mean, it's been almost 10years :).
I've been using PA (premium) for years and loved it, but this is becoming a deal breaker for me.

not sure if the "Cross device synchronization" is too difficult to implement, or if there are other blockers, but to me this seems like the most obvious next big new feature.
If I subscribe to a new podcast on one device, I'd like to have it on another one too. If I listended to one episode, I'd like it to be marked as "listended to" on all devices.
Posting it here since the feature request is still "open".

Really weird this can't be added. It would literally be no more complicated than writing a textfile to Google Drive.
I can't wait any longer. In my current setup syncing is necessary so here must my 10 year relationship with PA end :(

I would love this feature. Podcast Addict is a great app (best app for podcasts in my opinion) but the lack of cross device syncing is what keeps it from a full five stars for me. While I understand it's really difficult to do, it would be so, so, helpful.
Pretty please? It's been nine years...

I think that this idea is complete.

I come back occasionally just to check up on this. Until it's completed, I'm sticking with Google Podcasts. I'd love to head back to podcast addict =(

So this feature suggestion is now over 9 years old. Curious to know if it's actually going to happen?

The app is awesome, don't get me wrong, and the best I found by years until now, but the cross-device synchronization is a big deal since long time.
While you're working on it, could maybe be implemented a daily check and restoration from the already existing daily backups on GDrive? It should be just automate the restoration process but it'll be a nice workaround for a lot of us meanwhile. Also a nice touch if we can choose do it only by wifi. -

Suggestion: Fund raise for this feature. Set a "cost" and allow the community to contribute to the funding (sort of like GoFundMe or Kickstarter).
Yes, I want this feature that much... it would be so helpful to have my podcast addict client on tablet and phone "sync" - I use the phone during the day and the tablet at night (tablet has a much bigger battery and is not connected to a cellular network that might bother me while sleeping).
So this feature is huge for me.
But I understand it would likely require a totally new database architecture which is scary as all get out...

This is the 2nd highest requested feature by a lot and this thread is 5 years old so it looks more & more like they aren't going to add this feature. Backup and restore is clunky at best and its more useful when moving to a new device rather than a daily device swap.
I would venture most people that have 2 phones like myself, 1 is work and 1 is personal and they aren't going to be the same phone which is where the clunky comes in. Different version of OS, different storage paths, etc.
They need to add it or say they're not going to do it and lock this thread and change the status from started to closed.

Has this been completed.
I can't figure out how to do it.
Says 7 years since started
Says testing done 7 years ago.
I start to listen to a podcast at my house on Tab and then when driving want to listen to the rest.
Podcast not selected or status of the listening.

What about a simple PodcastAddict webapp to allow us to manipulate our own database's content, from a computer.
This would be useful to deal with the "jewels" heard while listening on the phone:
- browse replay quickly
- check / add bookmarks and notes
- download favourites and export parts of them (notion of "quote" that could complement the bookmarks) - cf. Derek Read's suggestion
- search
- ...This could perhaps be an interim feature until the "full cross-device sync" comes to life.

Xavier, have you considered adding gpodder support? That would let you sync also to desktop and iOS apps. It's the one feature PA is missing and it's almost enough to make me, a long time pro user, switch over to that other app.

This would definitely be a nice feature. I have multiple devices that I can use, and an update on played and downloaded audio/video from one device to another would help.

The very cool way to do this would be if the 2 devices can see each other on the LAN, then they just sync directly and bypass cloud.
I sometimes use my tablet for Podcasts because I'm lazy.

I wish I had known that cross-device sync was not available before I purchased this app.
